hello there,
it (the bluetooth version at least) has an NFC module in the global/EU market version, but does it actually work and is supported/certified?
best,

atichko, 13 Jan 2025Sure it's not the most performant watch when it comes ... moreFor me, the price isn't a problem. I would gladly pay 3-4 times the price for this watch if it were more functional. Unfortunately, currently there isn't any watch worth buying.
A while ago, I planned to buy the Oppo Watch 4 Pro, but it turned out that it has huge bezels. So, it was a no for me.
Personally, I think that the Redmi Watch 5 is the first non-Apple watch that has thin bezels and looks really good.

If not, then you should shop in much more expensive "toys". Don't forget it's a Redmi watch, not a high-end watch that has even more whistles and bells. Don't expect a Mercedes for the price of a Skoda.

This is exactly what I'm trying to say but fools won't listen.

It's usually the mediocre OLED screens that use that eye destroying tech

MMario, 12 Jan 2025That screen looks really good. If only it were a smartwatch... moreWell, it's a real system, just not android. It does all it's supposed to do (and as good but much longer than the two brands who offer wear OS (Samsung and pixel). My Galaxy active watch works fine as well but it's a hassle to install it (even on Samsung devices) due to the different apps you have install on it compared to this redmi unit (and many other "toys") and you barely get through the day (just as that other overly expensive watch from apple).

Would like to see that one in the flesh. I have de the redmi 4 (and also the 5 active) and I'm very satisfied about that one (both). Very solid, a very good autonomy and many features that work rather well. Much better than my older Huami GTS and GTX (but these are almost 4 years older). I wonder how it would be with wear OS in combination with hyper OS and e-sim support. The big screen and bigger fonts are also a bonus (must) as my eyesight had deteriorated (the bonus of getting old(er). Anyway I will try to get one in my hand as soon as possible.

Anonymous, 12 Jan 2025Because I don't want to suffer from OLED induced eye d... moreYou do realize that this has nothing to do with OLED technology and can also happen with a bad IPS or VA display? The main problem is the refresh rate. Unfortunately, many manufacturers use PWM dimming instead of DC dimming. Read about it and don't make a clown out of yourself.
