Anonymous, 11 Jan 2025Have you asked yourself how can software lead to a hardware... moreWell lets See!!
Lenovo had software in the BIOS that was a HUGE securitty flaw in the TPM chip just 5yrs ago and many orders for corporate USA & Canadian Thinpad laptop HAD to be recalled! I know because I worked at to fortune 500 comoanies leaders in their business on global presence where I had to delay hardware upgrades for 1000+ users for 30 daya until replacements came in.
There was alao the very famous 90's virus that specifically destroyed ports ans even CPU's of laptops too! Do some research!
Software drives EVERYTHING U DO with technology hardware - many come embedded [the drviving force for 5/6G networks is embedded devices] and such are aoftwareupgradeable.
Screens are driven by software which controlas EXACTLY what you see on the screen. If a driver is faulty it can DEFINITELY affect what you see!!

The green line problem is common across all manufacturers who use AMOLED displays. Use Google to check. Anything saying it's a software problem doesn't know sh*t.

Heis, 12 Jan 2025Lmao, who said they replace the display?! 😂
My brother... moreNot all green lines are a software problem. Your brother is clearly lucky and it's a software problem.
It's not strange for an electronic device who are 4+ years old to have a problem. Electronic components (the materials they're made of) ages regardless of whether the device is used or not. Even if only military-grade components are used (the highest possible quality), there are still no guarantees. Even more so when you add software to it to make it work. That's why you have a warranty, which is usually 2 years. And whatever happens during that period, the manufacturer is obliged to fix the problem, replace the device or refund the customer. Every day after the warranty is just a bonus for you and no one owes you anything. If you're lucky, the device will work for many more years. Like my Xiaomi Mi3, which still works and sometimes I watch videos on it just for fun. If you're not lucky, it will fail and you'll have to buy a new device. As is the case with my Samsung on my work, which broke shortly after its warranty expired. Bad luck... So if your initial comment about the green line is sarcasm, I appreciate it, it's funny. But if it's not sarcasm, it's pointless.

My brother's OP8t got green lines two times in the same spot after software update, one was 6 months ago which they fixed by downgrading the software and install the latest version again, and just 1 week ago he got 2nd time.
He never even dropped the phone even once, both times after updating green line was seen.

Heis, 12 Jan 2025Have you asked yourself if it was a samsung defect then why... moreI'm curious. Samsung also suffers from the "Green Line" problem, but they don't use Color/Oxigen OS. How can we explain this fact?
Second question: Why does replacing the display solve the problem if it's a software problem? Shouldn't the new display also fail in the same way?
Third question: All phones received the same software version after the update. Why didn't they fail all the displays if the problem was software?

This started when oxygen OS was merged with color OS, and all devices were affected after upgrading software, if you can't understand this simple fact then maybe I'm talking to a wall.

It gives people the impression that the phone is getting better and better, especially after the reviews have been published, which might sway fence-sitters into purchasing.
It's funny how minor updates to phones from other OEMs don't warrant an article.
