Anonymous, 14 Jan 2025was huawei risky move good enough ? even in china the hype ... moreIt's a 3k$ phone when phones asp is less than 500$. It's obvious the hype wouldn't last more that a month. Even apple couldn't keep the hype for it's vision pro when competitors are 5 time cheaper at least!
Huawei had more than 20 times preorder of what this article says Samsung is going to make, and it is going global and that was china only!

I truly wish that people who can afford these things Not to spend their money unless it's worth it. They need to send a message to those companies that unless you throw real flagship specs we aint supporting your projects!

hmm i wonder why Samsung is not confident enough to make a sufficient number of these phones, despite being a year late to the race compared to Huawei.
People made fun of Huawei for the Mate XT but didn't understand how much guts it takes to make something so risky, for the mass market.

I remembered that Flex G concept phone with dual inward-folding hinge from 2023 MWC*. If the rumours suggest that Samsung's tri-fold smartphone won't be the same as Huawei's Mate XT Ultimate, it's possible to see Samsung put the Flex G concept phone into mass production.

Anonymous, 14 Jan 2025So, a chinese brand are the market leader in china, huh? ... moreIn markets where Chinese brands compete without hindrance with Samsung i.e. China and India, Samsung's marketshare are 1.4% and 18% respectively. The rest are Chinese brands with the exception of Apple. Yeah, no way are Samsung flagships outselling Chinese flagships in those markets.
