jnd, 14 Jan 2025I do have foldable that's not super thin and it's... morewhich phone are you talking about? Do you understand that moving parts in any piece of electronics creates vulnerability? Do you understand that the UTG used for the folding screen is super fragile? Unless you're using a military grade CAT foldable, I highly doubt your claims. I find even normal phones to be fragile, foldables are MORE fragile than normal phones. That's a fact.

Samespecsung should be ashamed of themselves. They could have achieved such feats but out of share greed chose to release same foldables and phones for generations after generations. Praying that other Chinese companies achieve such great heights as Huawei so that Sammy could reap what they have sown

FredrickX, 14 Jan 2025Samsung be like: Impossible! They woukd call it black magic and continue releasing their terrible foldable virtually unchanged for another decade. Problem solved. Obviously they can't produce something that is made with the use of black arts, not their fault, I can see their point.

You present false dilemma that's foldables are going to be fragile either way. No, only when you make the frame paper thin it will be fragile. Just like regular phones are sturdy with proper frame (reminds me of LG V10 and its metal rails on either side while having removable back and serviceable battery...). I for one don't need flimsy phone that requires quality case adding 3 mm on either side, what's the point of that?

Greg, 14 Jan 2025What's the use of thinnest phone if durability is ques... moreConsidering the durability issues and delayed repairs we saw from the Open, I doubt they would sacrifice on the quality just to pusure the title of thinnest foldable.
We'll just have to wait and see how it turns out. I'm definitely looking forward to holding this.

With such thickness and a Si/C battery 5500+ I would definitely give it a try! Would be my first foldable, don’t want to spend a couple grands for outdated Samsung tech

What's the use of thinnest phone if durability is questionable? Thin phones would make sense once they are flexible or foldable with good quality, strength of screen and assembly of interiors. Next comes servicing. Thinner devices don't have good customer support, forget about software support by oppo.

jnd, 14 Jan 2025What's the point of chasing super thin millimeters? I ... moreif durability is going to be poor either way, due to it being a foldable, why not have a thinner phone? I truly don't understand your point. Normal foldables aren't really fun to use unless they're super thin. Until they become like the Magic V3, foldables should keep chasing thinness. Until we reach 8.5-9.5mm thickness on average, foldables can't be considered normal phones.
Whatever the case man, foldables are NEVER going to be as durable as phones, and phones aren't that durable to begin with, cus yk, glass. Maybe temper your expectations lol

"Chinese tipster Experience More shared a render of the Find N5’s camera island which is said to be just like the OnePlus 13."
You might as well saying the camera island just looks like camera island on any other 1384 chinese phones, and it is still a correct statement.

Make it 9.5mm when folded, with the gap in between the two slabs 0.3mm thin or less. With said dimensions, focus on durability, cameras that are good, a large Si/C battery, and stylus support on both displays. There's no point in having a foldable that's any thinner than that when you have to compromise on all of those points above (maybe except the stylus?).

Not having a brick while also having bigger battery, charging and sensors... something what samsung can dream about.
In that kind of comparison, thickness got a new meaning.
Afyer all, it's more like Smart-phone than ancient brick, good luck with sales samsung.

What's the point of chasing super thin millimeters? I want sturdy foldable that won't fold where it's not supposed to and needs doubly thick protective case in practice. Give me solid frame and nice battery capacity, add cameras with proper periscope quality telephoto that doesn't need additional centimetre thick bump.
