iIi, 20 Jan 2025Magic 6 pro was promised to deliver 4 os updates, that was ... moreI've had Ascend P7, that's years before any sanctions and getting updates was just pathetic. The last update I had to manually flash the phone with update bolted together with update and patch files. Because I just didn't get the update regular way. And that was in just 2 years. I loved the ultra thin Ascend P7, but I never bought Huawei after that because of ho poor they treated you once you already owned the phone.

      Even honor or nothing phone is better than Samsung, apple , gollge out Asus and the rest of the trash

        None of these. The magic 7 is the one I'd consider. Definitely one of the best standard flagships of the year and one of the few Chinese flagship series models with a flat screen. Basically it has nearly everything (large main sensor, OK imx858 telephoto, ultrasonic fingerprint reader, excellent eye protection screen, top class speakers, good pricing, very fast wired charging and 88w wireless charging, ip68/69, full Europeean band coverage). Lacking USB c type 3.2 the only major flaw. Glad to see a return to a flat screen. Fortunately I think more flat screen flagship phones are on the way as Chinese consumers are demanding them

          Huawei only updated the EMUI version, but still, got stuck in Android 10, so it only got two OS upgrades. That was with their last models with GMS, because older ones rarely got a single OS upgrade.

                  Bob, 19 Jan 2025what is it with chinese phones and curved screens? the 2 pr... moreHonor is a Chinese company, and those for some reason have (had?) a fascination with rebadging their low-end and midrange phones as "Lite" models of flagship lineups in Europe. I think Huawei was the most prominent one of them all, their P and Mate Lite models were very successful. And while Huawei ditched such models for the Nova lineup, Honor continues Huawei's legacy.

                  I guess Chinese companies decided that Europeans need their cheap phone to have the same name as their flagship or something.

                    About situation of Huawei devices, it got crippled by google, Huawei mate 10, introduce with EMUI 8, and it got up to emui 12, two more versions compared to Samsung, which was longest supporting android brand at that time.
                    I said it was crippled because of google, and my reason for that is that all Huawei flagships with Chinese rom from that model onward(2017), got 4 os update at least!
                    *I don't know how is their support for midrangers.

                                      Magic 7 Lite.
                                      It would be nice if you could do review of Magic7 Lite, since Magic6 Lite was dropped.
                                      Also, since I'm in Serbia, our renowned tech portal already did review on Magic 7 Lite (to my surprise), but I would like to read or hear your opinion and review too. :)
