If Mediatek and nVidia release soc for Laptop, I wouldn't be surprised if it will use X925 clocked up to 5ghz with active cooling (fan).
X925's pipelines are probably wider than competitor's cores.
Better perfs/mhz
Would be curious to see someone installing a CPU monitoring app to see how often 8 Elite uses frequencies over 4ghz...

I'm actually confused by those MT chipsets. For example would 8400 make any sense if I can get a phone with 9300 instead for same price?

Shadocx, 20 Jan 2025And clocking the Cortex-X925 core in the Dimensity 9400 fro... moreOn Geekbench which tests with ArmV8 instructions...
Dimensity is ArmV9
Snapdragon steps back to ArmV8 (when 8 Gen 3 was V9)
Plus if you look at CPU Throttling tests...Gips (Giga Instructions Per Second) are far higher on D9400
Max 454Gips
min 269Gips
(find X8 Pro)
Max 261Gips
min 144Gips
(realme GT7 Pro)
Max 386
min 190
(Nubia Z70 Ultra)
It seems there's some tasks scheduling somewhere...running a CPU over 4ghz with passive cooling isn't reasonnable..it works on Geekbench as it is a very short test

Eduard33, 20 Jan 2025Qualcomm will also have a Plus versionWith the elite rebranding,
there won't be a PLUS version, i.e. Snapdragon 8 Elite Plus
But there will be MORE and LESS version
i.e. Snapdragon 8 more-Elite & Snapdragon 8 less-Elite

I AM AMAZING, 20 Jan 2025Unlike a certain company that removed one efficiency core... 🫠And clocking the Cortex-X925 core in the Dimensity 9400 from 3.63 GHz to 3.7 GHz and call it 9400+ is more interesting to you?
At least the 8 Elite in the Galaxy S25 series is clocked to 4.47 GHz vs 4.32 Ghz normal clocks.
Knowing the D9400 is already losing in Geekbench 6, the extra 0.15 Ghz on the Snapdragon will take a further lead ahead of the D9400+.
