vik457, 21 Jan 2025Well, there is a thing with contracts with phones: You may ... moretrue, one should always be careful with those contracts, but Samsung has astonishing offers at times, which are not available from 3rd party sellers.. S24U was given basically for free with some Vodafone contracts (35-39 per month) if bought via Samsung.. those are time-limited offers ofc, but yeah, throw an eye on those at samsung.de if you are interested..at times those are without competition.
outside of those offers, yeah, samsung are very expensive.

PartTimePhoner, 20 Jan 2025Oh man, Samsung has been using the same design forever, onl... moreNo
The logic - which youve failed to possess nor demonstrate terribly - is this:
Despite the over hardware design also followingtge same caveats that samsung has disolayed the last few years, Apple's software reliance is upon itself.
Apple's OS, swcurity, and fitst party apps consistently provide THE best synergy amongst themselves and moreso woth 3rd party applications. Apple has innovated in software where Google hasn't in where the latter has 4x the software engineers at the leats! Why is Android software permissions not as USER focused snd finely granular that respects the END USER's preference without forcing the user to acquise their choice only to accept either the applicstion chosen will NOT work if user wants certain permission redtrictiond OR accept blindly and move on.
They are NOT forced to accept 3rd party apps imposed will - only courts can do that.
Apple delivers better pictures ASIDE from suffering the lense flare from the sun which is more than what Samsung models suffer from but theyre bringing further improvements to telephoto pictures.
All models of iphone have UWB.
Final the resale value is TOPS in any market!

Luke, 21 Jan 2025Initial price isn't really so important. Important is ... moreWell, there is a thing with contracts with phones: You may pay little upfront cost, but you end up paying it over time. There is a price differential for monthly payment between a contract with phone and without and multiply it amount of months of contract duration and add it to upfront cost, there you have cost of the phone. Offers on contracts without phones complicate it further and you may end up paying more than with buying it outright and getting a contract without a phone.

Initial price isn't really so important. Important is what offers/buyback/discount Samsung will offer and what would be the price towards cell carriers. In past 6-8 months S24U in Germany was something like 100-150€, when taken with a contract..

This article says this happens only in South Korea. There are no more free upgrade promotions, although the price may be the same as the S24U price.

Hold on, 20 Jan 2025What is the point of this increase. 30% off after 6 months ... more..and then chinese flagship fans are upset, when many people prefer Samsung flagship because of their good price.

What is the point of this increase. 30% off after 6 months and 50% off in a year anyway. To me the Samsung's new phone release date is not in January but in July every year🤣

I want the S25 Series to Flop very bad. I’m damn sure it will happen.
Maybe Tm Roh is responsible for it. Under Dj Koh it wouldn’t be this lackluster.

joel, 20 Jan 2025im moving to iphone, im done with samsung.Oh man, Samsung has been using the same design forever, only gave us modest upgrades at best these past few years, and overall is very pricey. Let me just switch to Apple because uh.... it uh.... it's been using the same design forever but its apple design, the upgrades lately are lackluster but they have widgets! Very pricey still but its apple so its ok.
Sound logic.

The usual "2 step forward, 1 step backward" approach.
Samsung cought wind of their unpopular "rumored" price hike, so Samsung watered down the price hike.
But it is still not the "no price hike" where most consumer were expecting.
Especially when the new unit has little to no difference from previous unit.
Samsung is expecting too much on a tight economy I guess.
