"Samsung is using a wattage on the low side but i don't mind, just as Apple they aim for a longer period of customer satisfaction and OS support, so it is only logic they cherish battery health."

Sure, but it doesn't work, they want people to believe ultra fast charging is bad, and that works, people do believe in that, but it's false. Many have issues with battery life on Samsung S22 and S23 series phones, and neither of those are old, I work at a phone repair store so I know very well.

DarlingYext, 25 Jan 2025Gotcha. However there is something I don't understand,... moreI do not think they do, at least here in europe. I believe it is a fair draw between Samsung and Apple here but nobody switches a lot, and chinese phones are only discussed at tech foorums, but hardly anyone is seen with them in the wild. In US Apple is obviously even bigger compared to Samsung and i believe Motorola does play a role there, but we all know China has had some foot between the door in US. Will be over soon i gues with MAGA. I do not believe a non-Apple or non-Samsung manufacturer give a damn once they have their money, i mean it's China right. Proven time over time. This culture always seeks how to stretch something to the edge and shouting "hey its legal", my daddy government approves etc. Not a fan. Most phones switch back from heavy charging ANYWAY pretty soon, otherwise they would burn. But i know they pump way faster then aplle sammy. Samsung is using a wattage on the low side but i don't mind, just as Apple they aim for a longer period of customer satisfaction and OS support, so it is only logic they cherish battery health.

mawlki, 25 Jan 2025It's how the wind blows. Ok sit tight! First and for... moreGotcha. However there is something I don't understand, I always hear the same from Samsung users how their phones are the most reliable, last the longest, they don't use ultra fast charging to keep the battery health as best as possible, they are easy to repair because there is a Samsung store everywhere, and even random phone repair shops have all the parts (all the chinese phone brands don't have stores everywhere they can't do that), and are getting updates for a very long time. Sure, but then what I actually see is them either having problems with their device, or just switching because that's just how it is. So tell me, why is it that my 2022 vivo X Note that I bought 1,5 years ago is still in perfect condition with nearly new battery health (97% to be exact, it shows in the settings), my 2022 Moto Edge 30 Ultra that was used by someone close to me for 6 months, they used it pretty heavily, still has unbeatable battery life and only small scratches on the camera bump, and lastly my 2022 Honor Magic4 Pro is also still working like new. All these charge faster than 80W.

So why do Samsung flagship users switch so often?

DarlingYext, 25 Jan 2025Yeah, but why did you switch from an Ultra to a base S seri... moreIt's how the wind blows. Ok sit tight!
First and foremost i am an Ultra fan. But, its a huge phone.
My S22U had cracked back front and UW camera lens crack. I did get an incredible trade in and coupon magic when pre-ordered S24+, that i directly sold in its sealed case right after the pre-order period, still using the free buds pro 2..
This way i was able to pull ample money out of botched S22U.
Now i was using a dumbphone for a while as i needed to do technical work and not crack phones (all traumatized). I needed a new mobile contract and needed a smartphone again so i got amazing deal on that and was like; lets get a vanilla S24 and put it in a mous-case, so to have max unlikelyness to cracking it again. It worked and it is still as new. But, i started to hunger for ultra PEN , CAMERA , BATTERY, GAMING, SCREEN again so here am i once more on an Ultra. So, here we are 🤣

mawlki, 25 Jan 2025vanilla S24, used S22U before that. Just click on my name... moreYeah, but why did you switch from an Ultra to a base S series and then back to an Ultra even if the S24 still has 6 years of OS updates left?

DarlingYext, 24 Jan 2025Curious. What phone are you switching from?vanilla S24, used S22U before that.
Just click on my name, u see all phones i seriously used .

DarlingYext, 23 Jan 2025Enjoy! However why not S24 Ultra? With the S25 Ultra there ... moreHard call, yes. I do like the design of the S24U. To me, the ultimate note EVER. Art.
And that pen was a great remote! Gestures not for me. Some Sammy bonkers nonsense, but hey maybe i even love them for that too. Most important thing of S-pen is still around and actually good call to throw charging coil, bluetooth chip etc out, safe weight AND SPACE and see what we get: (amongst a plethora of other refinements): a lighter, slimmer S25U.
In the end with all these discounts / free watch7(sell) etc., i got the S25U for even a bit less money then best deal on S24U. Hard call. Torn. Now, anxious about what sd-elite will do to battery/ heat..

mawlki, 23 Jan 2025I watched 5 minutes out of it. pre-ordered S25 ultraEnjoy! However why not S24 Ultra? With the S25 Ultra there is no more Bluetooth in the S Pen.

                    DarlingYext, 23 Jan 2025Obviously I did not.I watched 5 minutes out of it. pre-ordered S25 ultra

Of course they are good, but it's not "not as good as they COULD be", it's more like a case of not as good as they SHOULD be. These are expensive phones, they shouldn't just be good, in order to justify their price, they should be the best, which they aren't.

mawlki, 22 Jan 2025I know you are watching. Watching what?

If yes, then I must damn well hurry, gonna miss the offer.

S25 is tremendously disappointing that I didn't care about it at all.

Though, sadly the masses will still buy the series especially the Ultra and Slim when it came out becomes of Samsung branding.
