L.O.R.D, 14 hours agoThe SE is supposed to be an entry level iPhone that is plac... moreLike iPhone 12/13 Mini? Em... I don't think that's possible right now.
Although I prefer smaller devices as well (not because i have small hands lol)... the frequency of how often we pick up our phone for something and the way we use them today can no longer meet the needs of most people... me included.
The simple reason is: smaller phones come with smaller batteries and the device cooling is not that effective also which degrades the battery even faster... with every year more powerful chipsets and new features they bring with all kinds of "AI future features" also doesn't help the case for more compact phones like 13 Mini...
Sure, we have solid battery tech and carbon batteries now which could help in the future for devices and products (not just phones) but we are far away from that being a standard in phone industry and we all know how Apple is conserved with their accepting of industry standards.
6.1" size for a new iPhone SE 2025 (or 16E) is the only logical move in my opinion.
Price is something that worries me. I just can't see it for less then $650/700€ as a minimum.

Bob, 10 hours agolol, a screen obscuring blob is a feature? that thing is as... moreiPhones have a blob on screen sure, but did you ask yourself why? You just had to type in your favorite browser why is that a feature on iPhone and not on Android phones? Maybe because iPhone have a 3D face scanner serving for unlocking a phone which is located next to a selfie camera? Maybe. But who cares right Bob? Nobody cares.

lol, a screen obscuring blob is a feature? that thing is as bad as an apple 'notch'. a big blob of usefull screen wasted. the worst and most lazy bit of [non] design on a phone.

If that's the case, then the 16E naming scheme would make sense.
Anyway, I'm still banking on Apple transitioning the Apple naming schemes into the new iPhone + iPhone Air+ iPhone Pro, similar to the iPad and Macbooks.

no way it will go for 500USD as previously rumored, unless there are serious cost cutting decisions, like lower IP rating and BOE finnally learn how to make a pill cutout.
for now it does look like 16E more than SE, it's basically 16 without ultrawide, and lack of ultrawide alone cannot drop the price from vanilla's 16 830USD to 500USD for 16E, that's cheaper than iphone 14.

The SE is supposed to be an entry level iPhone that is placed below main iPhone series in terms of price and features
According to rumours, apple is about to make it too close to a regular iPhone in design and features and that means it'll also end up costing almost as much. People will instead just buy a previous gen iPhone for the better camera setup. Who's going to buy the SE then ? It makes no sense, to go with that design
Instead apple should have gone with iPhone 12 mini design, a good way to differentiate the SE and mainline models and also to keep costs down as well as attract some compact phone buyers

I'll definitely buy it to replace my iPhone 11. Single camera lens at the back is what I want 🤩🤩

But something tells me the island on the SE will have limited features compared to other iPhones with island, if at all? Maybe it’ll just be a floating black pill.

They need to reduce the size of it already
It looks fine on the pro max but on the regular and pro it's terrible and takes too much space
