China smartphone phone sales figure has 2 types, sell in and sell out. Sell in is shipment from manufacturer to distributor and retail shop. Sell out is bought by customers.
Canalys should be reported sell in sales while Counterpoint Research reported sell out sales.

I am just showin... moreyeah, having the base storages available would've made the most sense but my point still stands that for whatever products they were selling, they had very competent pricing. The problem was the market they were selling at doesn't really care about large storage, absolute bang for buck is the target and that's where they failed.

Every 50 se... morewhat other phone is giving you 1 TB of storage, a competent triple camera setup with a 1/1.3" main cam, a JNS selfie cam and an 8s Gen 3, let alone an 8s Gen 3, for 1000 euros? For context, only the Vivo X100 Ultra and the Vivo V series phones have a Samsung JN selfie cam with autofocus, Huawei and Honor's flagships are the only ones providing AF and Apple/Samsung's selfie cams are tinier.
The Edge 50 Pro had another competent triple camera setup, the same great selfie cam and was priced closer to the Vivo V40 yet had 3 cameras. What other phone has better specs at this price?
I don't get what your point is. You're just hating cus the price is high for the "bad chipset" but you're ignoring the context, these phones have IP68 ratings, exceptional selfie cams and competent triple cam setups. In order not to have huge losses they needed to make a compromise on the chipset. And you're even forgetting the fact that Motorola is ONLY selling the high end 512 GB version of the Edge 50 Pro and the 1 TB version of the Edge 50 Ultra. I truly don't understand your argument, the chipset is indeed underpowered for the price, but only for a 256 GB phone. Storage tiers sometimes go up by 150 dollars for each tier so yeah, think about that.

Every 50 series device had the worst SoC in each class.
Even their most expensive Edge 50 Ultra had 4500mah battery(500 less than competition)and they didnt use the best Snapdragoon(8 gen 3),but the cheaper 8s gen 3 and 1080p screen....
1000E phone using the same SoC like other upper midranger phones that cost half the money like Poco F6, Realme GT 6 .

I have close friends who complained about their Motorola G52 being slow (a MTK cpu, so no surprises) and just recently they jumped to an S24 FE. They still hold that Motorola is all trash and not worth it compared to their "new" flagship level Samsung.
A decada back, another friend did the same complaining about a Samsung Core he owned, and later when he got a Honor 8, he disregarded Samsung as a trash company yadayada. Now he's stuck with Xiaomi, and just last year he got an iPhone, which he loves for the camera lol.
I'm not a fan of Samsung, but at least people should be aware of what they are buying. There's internet pretty much everywhere now, so a quick search could help. And for the laziest people, chatGPT is free.

Just for example, in q3, apple had 52%, second was Huawei with 33, and third was honor with just 5! Xiaomi 3%, And although Samsung doesn't have much of market share in china, they were 5th with 3%.

Vivo was the boss, but it wasn't lightyears ahead of competition. In fact, you'll see everyone captured about the same share of the market. The lowest performer had 14% market share, while the highest performer had 17% market share. That's not a lot of difference, which is to say, anyone can overtake anyone here, if given the chance. The competition is intense. It's kinda exciting to see as a consumer.
