potato4k, 24 Jan 2025Free for their citizens. Besides, TikTok is banned in China... moreFirst stop foaming out of your mouth and start to read into anything before you start typing a letter.

Tik tok is a international version of douyin( which is the original domestic Chinese"tiktok" app) both software owned and created by Chinese company called bytedance. As for tiktok usa, 60% of shares are already in the hands of us investors (not sure why mr trump wants the 50% shares😂) all data is locally stored and encrypted. All in compliance with "security " law in thr land of the "free". Only thing that we can't comply with is letting one country rob another country's successful app. Just because country A is unable to create one on his own. How is that possible?

And who said the ccp was free? Lol

The travesty is that it was the number one search engine, number one sales shop, and number one breaking news (independent news at that!) for the younger generation. The government wants to control the population and tiktok stands in the way.

I genuinely hope ByteDance stands its ground and refuses to sell TikTok. A permanent ban of the app in the United States would be a welcome change, given the already overwhelming number of social media platforms we have. One less would be great. Good riddance, TikTok!

It's unbelievable that so many people are up in arms over a stupid app, while more pressing issues such as homelessness, wars, and environmental destruction run rampant. This really shows how screwed up the world is.

Anonymous, 24 Jan 2025Only if you limit yourself to the shallow contents. This is the answer. Your for you page is what you interact with, not what tiktok feeds everyone. All of these ppl talking about its just girls dancing and queers are clearly the ones that are the sickos.

For anyone on iOS that no longer has the app you can get the ipa from appDB to sideload it onto your phone. They even have modded ones for longer comments, disabled ads, etc
