While Apple keeps their "premium" phones to a 60hz display for the past 4 years, budget phones from Chinese phone manufacturers are being released with 120hz displays.

BBK is notorious for this shameless practice, even on their upper mid-range phones that hit Europe – they love selling sub-500-euro devices with pointless 0.3MP camera sensors.
This has never been a strategy for Apple. The upcoming SE not having a purposeless auxiliary camera does not make it less of a premium device. Apple developed an in-house technology to map depth with one camera sensor, called 'monocular depth estimation' which debuted on the iPhone SE (2020). It calculates depth using machine learning.

Either Apple uses a new custom-made sensor if you're right about the sensor size (and they'd never do that), or it's the 1/1.56"-type one from the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.

Stupo, 27 Jan 2025Is this the same main camera module as iphone 16?it will likely be the 1/1.7" one of the 14 Plus and NOT the 16's 1/1.56" one, in order to create a feature disparity.

Interesting to compare SE4 vs vanilla 15. 🤔.
For me notch is plus;
8 ram vs 6 is plus;
18chip vs 16 is plus;
Battery capacity?
If camera is the same, mp count not nesseceraly means it's same. Then i'll buy it over 15. I don't remember using ultrawide camera ever anyway.

How does my Y03 have one more camera (that isnt probably functioning but probably looks better) than the "rich people phone"? I get that this is the SE, a cheaper iPhone, and that one camera is great and all, but one camera when most low ends are using more than 2? Still, quite a great camera, it's iPhone after all.
