Apple is working on a visionOS version for smart glasses

If Meta releases their Ray-Ban with screen for 999 dollars it will be doa.

499 max and it will sell well.

Apple will likely try price theirs around 499 dollars because it requires latest iPhone to be used.

Meta sells more Quest headsets in a day than Apple has sold headsets in one and a half years. Meta themselves learned from the Quest Pro sales, no one wants a 2,000 buck headset. They kept that secret to themselves until after Apple launched their flop. Meta also know how many people are actually buying smartglasses, as they kind of have been selling them for years. Samsung did collaborate with Meta for a few years on VR, so they have a lot of insight, too. Which is why the new Samsung XR headset software is so much more refined than Apple's boring stuff.

      Maybe, just maybe, VR is something that most people are fundamentally uncomfortable with. I've tried it a few times, and while an early VR flight simulator was pretty cool, I could see how it could be nauseating. And apart from games, and, ahem, adult content, there aren't any real applications yet. Look at how Windows Mixed Reality collapsed.

        Yes zmeta brought out their 4th gen glasses and it ricked Vision Pro, but let ir be known it took Meta 4mths after the Vision Pro - before that they sat on theie arse for a whole year. Their prior 2 glasses was a joke!

        That said this Apple glasses being a technical problem isnt it. Its an Apple problem doing to much when the basics are overly ignored or over done! Like the stupid hanging battery pack is worse than the 10yr old magic mouse woth thr power plug under it!!

        Apple this isnt hard to do. Smaller companies have release great products with a simple single usbc cable that carries powrr and display port for video and data dorectly from a phone. This is NOT difficult! These same small companies did it woth products under 400 Canadian!!!
