Samsung 3 cameras arnt pretty , minimalist dream this. I’ll wait for battery and results if good buy. I don’t even like Dynamic Island , notch is ok and well the black is stunning to me 1 camera easy to use , I mean who uses half the garbage in cameras anyhow , just take that pic of your dog cat. And well us android users are sick of waiting for dead RCS messaging .

One of these days we'll get what we should have had all of the time.
And what is that, you may ask?
Try thinking of a revolving turret of lenses covering a single large sensor of 50MP ACTUAL resolution (200MP quad-bayerequiv.)
With them placed in the centre of the back of the device, which has a large deep bulge as a result, but the bulge ignores the fashionista craving for thinness, and panders to the owner who uses cameras on his/her phone instead, such that the turret of 4 lenses is set deep into the bulge and no lens pokes out past the rim of the well.
This shields them from stray light and protects them from scratches when placed on a surface to be able to view the screened results etc: and the bulge tilts the screen up toward you at an angle. You need only pay for one great sensor, as you do with a DSLR or Mirrorless camera, and get a 12-24-48-85mm 35mm equivalent collection of fast primes with each of them an f1.6 aperture, all capable of 8K footage and all capable of producing image-stabilized photographs as the one large sensor they all use is image stabilized. So that at last manufacturers will have the option they have denied us all for so long- that of image stabilized ultrawide panoramas .
Had Nokia not gone under this would have happened years ago already as the Finns were already using a very large sensor in the 808 Pureview.
This overcomes matching quality and colour between the different lenses and also allows a much better quality zoom at the long end (2x85 cropped from 50MP actual resolution is OK, no?), and with the lenses in the middle of the device you can handhold it with two hands without blocking any lens at all. It would outsell every smartphone very quickly, being so much better than what we get pushed at us now!

If I were a SE4 phone user for purely looks and reputation needs, I wouldn't mind trying out sticking 2 false cameras behind.
In fact, its a business idea for phone cover manufacturers if they're reading... Go make a cover with 2 more faux cameras in a triangle orientation, so that it looks like a senior iPhone model. Thank me later..

xPandamon, 28 Jan 2025It will be very, very mediocre. Fine for basic tasks but at... moreWell that remains to be seen. It all depends on what you expect from a camera. It might be just enough or it might be pretty decent if the software does the right job. One thing is sure, it's not for a content creator but that's not the aim of the SE range. But the price...why??? Why in heaven are people so eager to pay far too much, only for the brand (because the quality isn't that much greater or even less than some other brands offer for less).

St. Peter, 30 Jan 2025I suspect that the rumored price of $499 has to do with a n... moreYeah, that all makes sense to me dude. There is just something in the back of my mind that prevents me from completely ruling out a 64gb base SE, even in 2025 and at that price. If anyone is capable of puling a stunt like that, it's Apple......

I guess this will be great for someone who wants to be the Apple ecosystem, but a $500 price tag can get you a very nice Android phone. Also for someone who doesn't need some ultra-powerful chipset, the Samsung A16 5G @ $199 has 6 years of Android OS updates.

For $500, Chinese brand like Poco, Oneplus offer much more than the SE. In terms of memory, the chinese counterparts offer either 16GB/256GB or 12GB/512GB comes with 5000+mAh battery for the same price, SE starting at 128GB for ROM is such a joke in 2025.
Precisely, who cares about A18 if the SE does not have space for photos/videos/games to do anything about it, the processing power is gonna be wasted. Same logic applies to the battery too, it is being deliberately handicapped to leave marketing space for the regular iphone's. Having A18 on board SE is only beneficial to Apple lower their chip R&D cost, but not so to the owner due to the limitation of the ROM and small battery capacity.

DaFink, 28 Jan 2025Not certain it will even be 128gb, with Apple I wouldn'... moreI suspect that the rumored price of $499 has to do with a necessary increase of the base storage from 64 to 128 GB.
The third generation iPhone SE from 2022 cost $429 for 64GB and $479 for 128 GB model at launch in the US, so that would make sense to me. Apple could justify the price hike with the increase in base storage, RAM, and the new Face ID authentication.
It’d just be too hard to justify a 64 GB version at the $499 price point in 2025. Yes, Apple has been milking their storage upgrades forever, but there are limits as to what customers would accept, given that even many (if not most) entry-level Androids have 128 GB nowadays.
This phone is obviously for Apple fans with a lower budget. I’ve also seen families where the mom, grandma, or a younger child uses a base model iPhone SE because that’s the OS everyone in their family uses.
