Did anyone see the Nothing promo to build MKBHD's perfect phone? He listed like 3-4 cameras and in total that came to 50 bucks, so Nothing could do better than have an 8mp ultra wide and downgrading from the 50 mp on the 2a, if the rumors are true.

This company is now HMD with worse gimmicks, but just as bad gear for the price. Absolutely nothing going on here.

Telephoto > ultra wide. I almost never use ultra wide camera, main wide is already too wide for me.

Why not make the 3a with a smaller display and the 3a+ with a larger display? Cater for more people. We're going to see three phones with 6.8" displays.

Oh. My. God. Can they stop with that puny 1/4.0" 8MP camera that costs, like, a dime, for God's sake? Toy cameras shoot better photos than whatever those ultrawides achieve with AI

I really don't get the tradeoff of the ultrawide for the 2x telephoto. I'd rather keep the higher res ultrawide and have a higher res main camera with some lossless zoom from which you could snap perfectly great 2x photos

funnyguy, 28 Jan 2025Man... can we have smartphones with 4 inch screens again? I... morehigh costs and marginal consumer base are the reasons why small phones fizzled out.
most people would take the phone with no compromise for the price paid.

"The rear camera will be upgraded with the company’s (possibly) first telephoto module – a 50MP camera with a 2x lens. That will come at the expense of the ultra-wide camera, which will drop to 8MP (previous ultra-wides on Nothing phones have been 50MP units). "
Okay, so from now on Nothing will just rebrand Oppo devices, well it was nice knowing them.

It's already a big phone so unless the bezels are thinner it will be a chunky phone.

8MP ultrawide is unacceptable in 2025. Don't downgrade the ultrawide just to fit in a 2× telephoto. Hell, don't ever downgrade in general, except for one situation. If MediaTek gave you cheaper offers compared to Qualcomm but for slightly worse performance than predecessor, go for them just to preserve the 50MP ultrawide while also adding a 50MP 2× telephoto.

It should have at least 7 icnh screen so people who still shouting about smaller devices should learn to have a bigger phone because its a lot better in litterary every aspect mostly the specs, Also the bigger phones are better for typing on keyboard and reading text without using magnyfying glass.

if you look at the comments under the YT videos starting with the NP1 model, the most common requests are for smaller screens.
"...At Nothing, we listen to our customers' requests..."

If the battery life would be significant shorter as in Realme 14 Pro + vs Realme 13 Pro+ I would think more in terms of CPU (Realme with bigger battery but on Snapdragon live not so long as earlier model with smaller battery on Mediatek)
