Anonymous, 29 Jan 202580w sounds like battery life going bad fast, no thanksUser of a 6 year old A50 here, I'd prefer faster charging with 3 years of good battery over 4 years of good battery. Now I have to keep this thing plugged in for 2 hours to uptop, which only lasts me 4 or 5 hours. Battery degrades no matter what and slow charging is frustrating. Used to get 10h in year 1.

Anonymous, 29 Jan 202580w sounds like battery life going bad fast, no thanksWatch Lover of Tech's S25 U vs S24 U vs iPhone 16 Pro Max video. He compares these 3 phones and has a 4th phone, an old S24 Ultra as well.
You'll see that battery degrades regardless, perhaps even faster on Samsung phones, despite the slower charging.

like, if you're in a rush and need that fast charging, you can do wired charging.

sdkk, 29 Jan 2025There is no dispute, I am FOR improvement and choice everyw... morei understand that but earlier, i would NOT have cared about wireless charging as it's gimmicky imo but now imagine just plapping your phone and it automatically sticks to a surface in a convenient manner, this way you can just get in the car and buy a separate charger and it'd still be fine, you can go to a cafe and have a charger and be fine. I think this is an excellent addition and finally makes wireless charging worthwhile. I understand slow charging is icky but my point is that if people have the choice of fast charging AND a convenient way of wireless charging such as this, then consumers would ONLY benefit.
Again, I understand that your point is that the Galaxy series phones are only using these as a vain attempt to act like they're superior/to have a USP and this is absolutely cringe. I was just saying that if, for example, Oneplus had this it'd be an excellent Quality of Life feature!

jiyen235, 29 Jan 2025im an advocate for fast charging and think that it should b... moreThere is no dispute, I am FOR improvement and choice everywhere. But in this case it seems to me like another thing that serves as an advertising gimmick for sales. Once upon a time in the not-so-distant future it was going to come into use, but if the car supported it, but there were no such cars yet... Like SMS via Satellite. But it was only for a certain area and mobile operators were still wondering whether to release it at all, since they are not convinced that it would be worth it.
With only 15 watts of wireless charging on the S25 and a 4000 mAh battery, it is like having an Off-Road Jeep with 13-inch wheels and the first thing you do is buy a more powerful compressor to pump up its small tires.

BUT, I do think that people should be given the CHOICE of being able to charge stuff up wirelessly. I fell in love with android due to the choices it provided so this'd be a cool feature. Here's hoping that the X300/Find X9 series implement it.

Who besides Samsung and Apple needs this? The other manufacturers offer fast charging for their phones. Just by the time I change my clothes and get my car keys, my phone is 100 percent charged and I've never used in-car charging...

Great feature and the average person would benefit greatly from this. Other manufacturers NEED to follow suit ASAP. It's crazy that others haven't yet properly implemented Qi2 despite it being out for a while now.
This doesn't change my mind about the S25 series. This is like putting perfume on a pile of poop, yeah it's gonna smell better but it's still poo.
