Weekly poll results: the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra may be in trouble, vanilla S25 could be a hit

One of the greatest mistake of Samsung is pricing politics. With iPhone you can save most money as you can sell it very good after one year.
Samsung is 1450€ at beginning and after a year 800€.
It would be much better to sell e.g. S25Ultra for 1200€ and then stick to that price for a whole year, not to compete with S24Ultra owners, who want to seel it and buy new S25 Ultra...

I am not a bit surprised, seriously how much has the Samsung S series change since the S21Ultra, other than pixel count & binning for the few cameras it was more of a downgrade ever since S23U and S24U. Same 5000Mah battery as it was 5 years ago! Other Flagships have already moved on to 6000Mah, better aperture and larger sensor rather than just stupid pixel count (wow 200MP)... my foot. Downgrade from 1TB version 16GB to 12Gb, removed 10 optical replaced with 5x Optical, removed S-pen Bluetooth, used last years Amoled 8bit panel instead of the latest and greatest; all of which are just cutting corners and downgrades and then tried to upsell AI garbage where most are still regarded as novelty feature with hardly any real world use implications.
Now the S series after 5 generations of much the same story and even their best world wide seller A series about to come undone as leaks shows their A56 is hardly an upgrade once again over the A55 with ......hardly any changes except chip upgrade lol 🤣🤣🤣.
Samsungs refusal to update meaningfully its ageing hardware and designs is a joke!
I wonder if will they ever wake-up and do something instead of sitting on their laurels for years or just waiting to become obliterated by competitors
IMHO, Samsung had already destroyed the Fold Series with its iterative minor updates over the last 4 generations (even the so called upcoming Z Fold7 appears to be is at least a generation or two behind competitors in 2025 releases. Fold 7 Still has narrower screen even after 6 generations, same tiny battery 4400MAh when Competitors are at 6000Mah, removal of S-pen ( Honor Magic V3 Supports it and yet much thinner) while Fold 6 is still thick as a brick even when compared to its pre-release Z Fold 7/SE leaks.
Honor Magic V3, OnePlus Open2 even Pixel Fold easily kills samsung Fold in terms of hardware a they are donkey years behind.
I guess as long as Mr Roh is still around we will have the same BS for S26 ultra, so I gave up updating my Samsung S24 ultra and looking to replace mine with Oneplus 13 or the Open2.
RIP S25U.

AntonelPAPI, 02 Feb 2025The Mobile division of this Korean company is on fire🔥🔥 hav... morenot really, it doesn't really matter if they improve much or not people will STILL buy it. You wanna know about mobile divisions who act like juniors? Sony and Asus. They had such potential and they're just squandering it all.

The S25 series will likely witness the least sales of all time. Samsung did not even upgrade the glass protection on the vanilla and plus models. It is something so basic but useful

I would rather pay a little extra and get Vivo X200 Pro which is far better than the S25 vanilla.

Samsung has stopped bringing meaningful improvements to S series. Once it used to be amazing but now it's just shameless money grab. They still give us an 8 bit panel on such an expensive flagship. Shame on you Samsung. People should criticize them and not buy this because this way will make actually meaningful improvements next year.

All 3 phones are a flop
No upgraded battery size for the Ultra
No upgrade to glass protection on the regular and plus.
Not worth buying

Why are you so soft on Samsung still, GSMA? Perceived as only a minor upgrade? THEY ARE ONLY MINOR UPGRADES. There's no "perceiving".

Samsuck would've been out of market long ago if Huawei was not sanctioned.

This is obvious. 6/7 years no hardware improvement. New design feels like a Chinese ZTE phone.

Samsung is in big trouble. Losing market share every year. Yes, they have enormous profit, but they compensate lower sales with higher prices. Same situation is with Apple. If we count that Samsung has now 19% market share, and iphone 18%, that is 37%. Sony doesn't have even 1%, Pixel about 2%, so basically about 60% holds Chinese companies. ( Xiaomi, Huawei, Honor, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, Realme, Zte, Tecno, Motorola, Itel, Infinix, Ulefone, Cubot, Doogee, TCL, etc ). To be honest, they pass the long way to become what they are. On the other hand Samsung and Apple wanted to riding whole life on old glory. Impossible in tech industry.

It's pretty evident that the yellow and green of S25 make up beyond 50% the votes, yet the writer appears blind to that.
