They want tiktok for half the price of what Musk paid dor Twitter. Tiktok despite having a user base massively larger than Twitter. Tiktok should just laugh at them whenever they get to present the offer.

Standard means if you like it, you'll get more of it. If you dislike it, you won't get more.
This is NOT about buying the algorithm.
This is about buying the user based to CONTROL it.
Whatever the American company that buy it will put standard "NED" algorithm.
In which, what ever you like or dislike, they gonna push the one that they think the user will accept.

But also do keep in mind that these sums are all including ASSETS. You won't really be able to suddenly use like 400 billion dollars if you're Elon Musk, you have access to places WORTH that but it's not like you have that much in cold, hard cash. And Microsoft.... well. I highly doubt they'd do much, they're all negotiating for the least amount they can pay for the most amount of benefits. Even if you're a trillion dollar company you'd still want to save a few bucks here and there. Don't ask me why but that's juts how it is lol, take a look at Apple or NVIDIA's products and their terrible value. And a more familiar face is Samsung, horrendous value and basically the same phone as the S22 Ultra in essence yet prices are higher and features are getting cut/costs are getting cut.

Fortunately for civilization, it looks as if Bytedance will refuse to sell and just eat the ban. Hopefully European countries will wake up to the infiltration just like many of them did with Huawei and ZTE network infrastructure, and join suit in banning TikTok.
