Asus NUC 14 Pro AI mini PC review

01 February 2025
The first mini PC to feature Intel's new Core Ultra processors (Series 2) along with Microsoft Copilot+

I am glad ASUS is continuing the NUC serious but the original Intel NUCs had a nicer design, and they did not have a gigantic company logo slapped on the front.

rizki1, 3 hours ago$1100 for a thing without screen, speakers and keyboard lol... moreyeah, I could get a pc for half the price. I really don't understand people buying nuc outside of industrial/business settings where space is premium. And if I want portability, I'd buy a laptop anyway...

$1100 for a thing without screen, speakers and keyboard lol Asus.. This price already includes a laptop with an OLED screen.

          "Asus NUC 14 Pro AI".

          Really rolls off the tongue.

AnonF-1006353, 8 hours agoMaybe don't compare it with outdated DOA intel garbage... moreremember that the 288v is more efficient. Not saying it isn't a piece of shit though

More disposable junk - these proprietary fans are abysmal. Any proper, worth buying PC should have a regular 80-120mm fan. They absolutely don't need to be THAT small. It's not like you won't need a monitor, a keyboard and a mouse at minimum, so you won't be carrying a computer in your pocket.

                  78° Celsius lmao!
They should've added a snapdragon. My snapdragon powered phone never gets hotter than 30° even during gaming.

If this was built by xiaomi and if it had watercooling option then I would consider buying it.
A chip that gets hotter than 50° is not going to last very long. Try to keep your processors 30° with watercooling. Just a friendly advice ;)

Anonymous, 9 hours agoWe live in strange times.. Where an apple product is CHEAPE... moreMaybe don't compare it with outdated DOA intel garbage? The ryzen ai 395 with igpu on rtx4070 level is right around the corner:

NUC branded, business-oriented mini pcs are overpriced anyway. As well as every intel based mini pc beyond the N series.

Also, the already existing hx 370 wipes the floor with the intel 288v and is also faster than the m4 base in many cpu tasks. Mini pcs with hx 370 are available for at least $200 less than this weirdly chosen intel based nuc if you want to do performance comparisons.. Don't forget ssd and ram upgradeability too. A samsung 990 pro will outperform any m4 base ssd.

Since it has an NPU I'd assume it can run Copilot offline? If not, then that's pretty lame. But even if it can, I'm not a fan of the interface and the way its integrated.
