10 February 2025
The ARM chip is better with the milliamps and just about everything else.

    Currently (in my knowledge) Arch Linux (specifically Manjaro and Endeavour OS) are now actively working on making Linux work on Snapdragon, as the current version of Linux that will work on ARM are RISC-V (possible Raspberry Pi?).

    Also, it will depend on laptop manufacturers, as there are laptops that are hit-or-miss on making Linux work on Snapdragon laptop.

    Personally, I think that eventually, Linux will work on Snapdragon X (and maybe even the future Mediatek-nVidia ARM CPU), but at the moment, it is too early to try / adopt.
    Linux developers are making great effort to make their distros work on Snapdragon X, but it is a bit too early to try / adopt.

    Especially when M$ is doing their best to scare away and annoy their existing userbase with their shenanigans and brouhaha with their current OS (Win11).
    Though the discontent started on Win8.

    As well as the "M$ curse".
    Win95 = ✔ / Good
    Win98 = ✘ / Bad
    Win2000 = ✔ / Good
    WinME = ✘ / Bad
    WinXP = ✔ / Good
    Vista = ✘ / Bad
    Win7 = ✔ / Good (probably the best OS M$ have made.)
    Win8 = ✘ / Bad
    *(Win8.1 = meh, but still failed to get wide adoption as it is still Win8 family so = ✘ / Bad)
    Win10 = ✔ / Good
    Win11 = ✘ / Bad

      But does it run Linux? I have absolutely zero interest in a Windows laptop.

        Reminder: The Intel version of the same laptop has processor throttled to 23 watts under sustained load.

Also probably have the same screen time for battery and the best part is that you can actually change the battery on your own and dont need to take the full thing apart to get the access to the battery

              No, sorry, x86-64 translation is fine, x86 is not. X elite chug down to the same performance of an e2180 (yes, a pentium core 2 duo) in 32bit mode.

                  I'd rather it have an expandable SSD (non-soldered) and RAM.
                  Gaming is worse on the ARM variant and I don't want to use a comparability layer so I'd just buy the x86 variant.

                    GSM Arena should have added,
                    Pros: No "AI" in the product name.

                    Now that's "Magic"!

One can buy intel Ultra version and be happy with no compromises. ARM is supposed to be cheaper than intel not at the same or more price.

                        "For 1699 you should get a killer laptop with good graphics card in it."

                        Yes, and with just 3 hours battery life. This is a laptop for work, not play.

                          I really dont understand these for the price they ask. It's like android go on a phone compared to the real laptops with AMD or Intel chips.

                          That would make sense if they remove the 1 in front of the price and it be 699 euro
                          For 1699 you should get a killer laptop with good graphics card in it.

                          For the task this is able to do there is already wide market for 500 euro laptops
