DJK, 04 Feb 2025That would be a lovely phone to own were it not for the rep... moreYou mean, like _Google_ Android is; emphasis on the Google part. Yes, I do know about AOSP, but before some FOSS commie decides to barge in and act like a Lemur 2 yelling "but but Webkit//Chromium//ANDROID is Open Source!!..", you might wanna ask yourself why Google is so hell bent on transferring as much Google Play as well as Android APIs to their propietary Android builds. If it's still not clear to you, take a good read of this: https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2018/07/googles-iron-grip-on-android-controlling-open-source-by-any-means-necessary/ .

Also funny if not sad tidbit, within the context of all this, I can't help but notice FC Cupertino being _always_ conveniently left out of the discussion. Hmmm, I wonder why that might be....

All key components and punch features made possible with Samsung, Sony, ARM, Hynex, Panasonic, Leica, Qualcomm, Alphabet, etc. parts. (all non-chinese). Plus added chinese crap ware software.

Flagships are boring and there are no point to mention that they get the latest flagship chip.
Budget to middle class are the mystery of what cpu they have that in articles mostly always is either not mentioned or then being mentioned as last feature after the typical features get mentioned like battery and screen size and then ram storage size

[deleted post]In comes the endless nitpicking over minutia from people who were never going to buy it anyway

                                The real S25 ultra 😁😁

You're not a photographer. The IMX858 is a 50 MP Sensor onto extreme small 1/2.51" Sensor size - into other words, insane. For the expected price of the 15 Ultra, the UWA Cam should have had at least also a 50 MP LYT-900 Sensor, the same, as the main Sensor here, besides the Samsung HP9 200 MP 1/1.4" Sensor as big tele, which does the cropping, digitally.

And i heard rumors, the 15 Ultra would miss the variable lens aperture blades mechanism for the main cam, which the Xiaomi 14 Pro/Ultra series featured, last year...from F1.42-F4...it's such a shame, this was great, real aperture, like true lenses, for real bokeh/DoF effect. I guess, it was simply too costly to produce.
