I hope Sony's Z1 will make a difference especially with the camera performance. Their new product is expected to do good in the camera department since they are boasting about the 20MP shooter that it has. I just hope they'll really do well on it. Sony used to be the best phone maker alongside Nokia in early 2000's up to 2009. I am so proud of LG, they keep on getting better and better. The Optimus G Pro is really a performer in every aspect! I love the battery life, I love the look of the phone, I love the screen and I love how snappy it is! Only clocked at 1.7 GHz vs the Galaxy S4 that is clocked at 1.9 GHz but LG is way snappy than the laggy Shamesung. I also like Optimus G Pro's camera. I just hope Sony can match up the performance of the LG G2 and the upcoming Note 3.

I love it. If I didn't buy HTC Butterfly 6 months ago, I will definitely choose this over the other. S-Amoled? My eyes feel same good on LCD3, non removable battery? Last time I have to open the battery is 3 years ago when I was still with Blackberry... Option? HTC One Max tease me also...

[deleted post]Are we looking at the same G2? It looks like a nice phone, but beautiful it is not. In fact, I'd say what little design is there is fairly hideous.

LG doesn't use OLED for the displays on their smartphones. They use IPS LCD technology which is also used on the LG G2. Get your facts straight first dude. IPS LCD is far way better than the oversaturated OLED used by Sammy.

Totally agree. On screen buttons for home/back keys is a bad design decision. Totally waste the screen space, which is already small. They're also more prone to accident presses. Glad some manufacturers are still using hard keys for these.

correction, sony uses premium materials on their top of the line phones. Aramid was used in their Z. In the Z1 honami, carbon fiber is used. Sony will not used aluminum in their top of the line phones since aluminum is a cheap material destined only for entry phones like iPhone and Myphone [a Philippines brand]. Sony has an aluminum framed unit, the entry class xperia SP. So wake up guys, aluminum, a very cheap and crappy material that easily dents, rust, chip, and fugly looking, is just for entry phones like iPhones and Myphones.

Jesus people, ALL smartphone are TFT, EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM. Yes, that includes AMOLED. IPS, Retina, Super PLS, AMOLED, they're all TFT displays. If you complain about "cheap" TFT displays, it means you don't have a clue what you're talking about. Triluminos displays use an IPS panel with quantum dot backlighting. Yes, they are the most advanced display available at the moment.

[deleted post]The following goes for Z1 as well
1. ZU uses the very latest screen technology developed by BRAVIA® TV engineers which is Bravia Engine 2
2. ZU incorporates TRILUMINOS Display for mobile to present rich, authentic colours with subtle tones, while replicating bold colours including hard-to-reproduce reds, blues and greens. By integrating Sony’s own unique display innovation, this technique delivers a significantly wider colour gamut, carrying a far more natural and vivid viewing experience with a heightened sense of depth.
3. from low-resolution web videos to high-resolution movies − with Sony’s latest picture engine, exclusive X-Reality for mobile – everything you see on Xperia Z Ultra’s big screen is analysed and selectively processed to give clean, clear and lifelike pictures. Three unique noise reduction features work their magic prior to upscaling. While Sony’s intelligent display technology analyses each image to optimise pixels, texture, outline, colour, contrast and noise, creating the best viewing experience possible.
4.This OptiContrast™ panel makes for less reflection and clearer viewing – even in bright sunlight, as well as creating a seamlessly black surface when the phone is turned off.
By eliminating the sensor layer and integrating the sensor on the lens, ZU managed to increase the responsiveness of the screen. So your touch is more effective and the experience on your Android smartphone is more intuitive.
