jiyen235, 08 Feb 2025the glaze doesn't stop lmao, i can't.... this is ... moreYou too must be glazing. The lower brightness doesn't necessarily mean it's bad compared to others, when it's under the sun it looks more bright than other phones despite having a lower nits, that's cus of the anti reflective glass. He's not entirely wrong and he's not glazing, if only you know the meaning of "glaze"

jiyen235, 08 Feb 2025the glaze doesn't stop lmao, i can't.... this is ... moreNo clue why you have an issue with that. A phones display is used for cooling and higher brightness impacts the screens temperature negatively. And obviously, it also impacts battery life.

just giving an example here so that you don't come back at me with another idiotic reply
" ultimately lower brightness helps with battery life and cooling the phone."

B... moreOkay, valid point, some people want to keep their phones for a decade or so years but imo software updates dont really have to be that long. My choice would be around 4-6 years of updates since its quite the balance of longevity and software slowness

raditz594, 07 Feb 2025Arguing over smartphone update support is the most mundane ... moreEh, when companies like Asus still still on 2 years of major updates it absolutely should be a point of interest. Not having a few years of upgrades just makes these phones less secure in the long run and turns them into e-waste long before their hardware is due

La Fone Dumasse, 07 Feb 2025One small question. By the time the phone stops getting upd... moreI myself will propably upgrade again in a few years, yes. But if the update trend continues, we will be able to keep flagship phones around, let them trickle down to other folks that continue to use them, rather than produce a ton of middle class phones. They will still outshine most cheaper phones, even after years. That's also why I don't see Samsungs slow approach as that bad, many people say the S24 Ultra is still good and that upgrading from any of the last phones isn't worth it, but isn't that a good thing to those buyers? They won't feel like their flagship phone suddenly is not enough anymore. Seems like a good thing to me at the end of the day.

jiyen235, 07 Feb 2025I've seen you in the comment sections of some youtube ... moreI only said that Samsung is known for bringing good updates, even if they take a bit longer sometimes, alongside bringing updates for many years to come.If that somehow offends you, I don't know what else to say. There is a lot to criticize about Samsung which me included have critizised before, like the lack of bluetooth codecs, not having a 10 bit panel, still no 1" main sensor and such. Updates are not part of that. And yes I do defend some decisions. Not bringing a bigger battery as an example, as battery life is still very good. S-Pen bluetooth removal although now that we found out the charging seems to still be there, that one is a bit sour for me too. The screen not being the brightest one, eh, I have no issues in sunlight unlike with my old S23 Ultra and ultimately lower brightness helps with battery life and cooling the phone.

Anonymous, 07 Feb 2025Lol, he did. It's 3 years and 1 month not 4years. XDRounding 37 to the nearest multiple of 12 is 36, so quite correct.
HOWEVER... Yext might have meant the start of 21, Jan 1, 2021, not the end, Dec 31, 2021. Also, consider that the S21 released in like, January 29 which is closer to the start than the end.

Anonymous, 07 Feb 2025Lol, he did. It's 3 years and 1 month not 4years. XDThat's not how any of this work, and you know that.
Past 3 years are: 2022,2023 and 2024, count it, that's 3 different years, 2021 would be the fourth.

Like seriously, if you're not paid by them then it's actually hilarious. No wonder Samsung is slowing down when people like you defend every action from this faceless corporation like they're your family member. Insane marketing done by fanboys online. These comments and videos that fanboys like you make actually change people's perception or at least create/hold an image.

DarlingYext, 07 Feb 2025Do they really? So why are they holding back the updates? W... moreif other brands take their time to bring updates, they're slow and horrible. Cheap knockoffs. But if Samsung takes their time for an update then they're optimizing it, they're "refining" it to perfection!!! Android 14 OneUI is 25x better than android 15 ChinaUI. Get that into your head u heckin poor boy 🤣🤣

xPandamon, 07 Feb 2025Did you fully lose your mind now? Samsung has among the bes... moreOne small question. By the time the phone stops getting updates, lets say 7 or 8 years, would you have upgraded to a better phone by then? A lot of software updates make the phone not only run slower but by the time its at its last update, it either becomes e-waste or midrange.

Smallworld, 07 Feb 2025Most boring phones everOnly things that dont really make it boring is that at least you dont have just iphones and ios roaming around and its korean and not entirely chinese.
