I've been messing around with my S25 Ultra and maybe because I come from a S21 FE (Huawei P40 Lite before it and Huawei P10 before that), I was shocked how great of a job the zoom does both in photos and videos.
I like taking photos quite a lot, but unless I'm specifically aware that I will be taking photos, I never bring my DSLR camera with me, which lead me to miss some pretty cool moments during spontaneous zoo visits where the lack of proper zoom made it impossible to capture something - having a phone that can do reliable x5 (even x10 has been working pretty well for me so far on this one) is fantastic.
People can dunk on the S25 Ultra all they want, but for someone that is for the first time getting a top-tier phone, the experience is pretty great so far and given how I expect to stick with it for 5-6 years, pricing for it is reasonable in my eyes (compared to the hassle of upgrading every 2-3 years).

DarlingYext, 12 Feb 2025Neither of them are impressive at night, they both tend to ... moreThey do what miledia likes.
Brighten the scenes at expense of texture to "look better"

Looking at both, it is hard to believe they cost more than $400.
None look premium.

I don't use camera a lot. So don't know about camera. But otherwise of course Samsung is much much better.

Neither of them are impressive at night, they both tend to overexpose, but most of the time I actually preferred the Galaxy's pictures. The S25 Ultra is also way more powerful and has similar battery life, and charges faster, which is weird to say about a Galaxy, but here we are.
Overall it's actually kind of a no-brainer, while I do think there are better options than either of them, the S25 Ultra is the clear winner here.
