madesina, 14 hours agoThis is a crazy comment. I own the OnePlus watch 2 and it... moreThe OP Watch 2 has sapphire glass, too. In the Watch 3 the glass is not curved and it doesn't cover the whole face. Instead there is a titanium bezel, that adds a little bit more sporty vibe to the watch. I hope there will be more improvements, like the rotatory button, EKG function and more sports profile. I really like my Watch 2, it changed my view on a smartwatch. I really benefit from all the functions with connection to my beloved Pixel 6a.

PepperPot, 11 Feb 2025Looks like I was wrong about silicon carbon batteries in we... more1+ Watch 2 could go for 100h (= 4d) so with 29% bigger battery 5d seems logical

Appreciate that it's really clever what Oneplus have done and to get 5 days out of a power-hungry OS like WearOS, but at the same time it's hard to think of 5 days as "incredible" anymore when garmin, amazfit, huawei and others can easily get 10+ out of their devices AND you pair that with the fact that these alternatives are now getting far more capable with their features and apps. It used to be that watch-based payments and being able to voice reply to messages was what set apart the "sport watches" from "smart watches" but these are all features now becoming available on the sport watches with lighter OSes and it's making WearOS much less compelling of an offer.

I would love to upgrade based on the improvements to the crystal glass but can't justify it right now. I think they should/could have waited another year rather than launching another watch the following year. Like they've done with the OnePlus Open

Looks like I was wrong about silicon carbon batteries in wearables, but I expect much more from a 631mAH battery. I thought the One Plus 2 could do 5 days?
It's been 2 days and 8 hours since I last charged my Ultra. I'm on 54% and it says I have 2 days and 23 hours left. I'm not running smart mode or any power saving. If I enable power saving, I could go 4 more days.
I'm not even putting this on One Plus. Wear OS is not energy efficient at all. Any smart watch using any other OS goes 10 days minimum with batteries half this size.

This just shows how horrifically inefficient the ticwatch pro is with its 2 displays, despite the second screen being significantly more power efficient than the amoled one.

vodny, 10 Feb 2025As a OnePlus Watch 2 user I'm happy they kept the simi... moreThere's not enough reason to make a switch that quick.

As a OnePlus Watch 2 user I'm happy they kept the similar design and button config. I hope there is enough improvement to make the switch reasonable. This current watch 2 is fantastic and works very smooth, I like it a lot.
