Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge to weigh less than 160g

11 February 2025
It will be lighter than 162 grams, which is the Galaxy S25.

If a few extra grams, or even +50, +100 grams become a problem. A lighter phone will not help. What you really need is a wheelchair.

Maybe you've been living under a rock for the last decade but there's literally _hundreds of thousands_ of people who make tons of money from photos and videos taken on their phones, so I'd say they quality as photographers and videographers. Yes of course a dslr or even fixed-lens "street photography" cameras will always be better, that that's not smartphone buyers are comparing with. Like it or not, there is a difference between midrange phone photos and flagship camera photos (even if one is medium quality then other one will be medium+ in your scale that includes real cameras at the top end), and people are willing to pay for this (not huge) difference cause they simply want to have the best possible photo quality from a phone in their pocket versus a more mediocre phone. It shouldn't be hard to understand.

They cut almost everything in this phone. Of course it will weight nothing, but is will also provide nothing

ishreal, 3 hours agobattery yes but cameras in even midrange smartphones have b... moreSo you're wrong on multiple fronts: regarding sensor size and noise floor it may not be apparent in abundant light, but it will be apparent when there's less light, even in cases where sensors of similar size have different noise floor one with lower noise floor pulls ahead like ov50h against hp2 and 1/1,55" sensor likely won't be winning against 1/1,3" one, yet alone bigger with similar aperture. Regarding hdr it's a problem with current hdr methods like staggered hdr and dol hdr and oems try to "compensate", sensor manufacturers aren't making sensors with dcg, dag or dsg and trying to increase well capacity for fun, the ceiling would be much higher if oems actually used those features of sensors. You probably haven't seen what those sensors are capable of in 14-bit mode.

Bigger screen with feather weight. Finally 😃

What's the point of this phone? It seems like an S25 FE replacement. Hopefully has perfect 6.4 inch screen size.

Smartphones are meant to be light, small, and thin for easy portability not massive behemoths with bricks attached to them just to get mediocre phone-level hdr overprocessed garbage quality with abysmal plastic lenses and tiny sensors. no real photographer, videographer, cinematographer, or professional creative uses a smartphone for any camera work. none.

This is actually good news, as I personally am tired of huge, heavy briks in my pockets.

iPhone 7 was 138g, btw. But why Samsung would do it? and I think that S25 Edge would have very big amount of problems (with overheating, etc.)

Samsung really are grasping at straws. Making a device no one has asked for simply to leapfrog Apple before they release their "slim" phone.

Why is everyone saying plastic frame? IceUniverse did not say this and another "reliable" leaker is saying it will be aluminum. PandaFlashPro on x reported
