It can hold a 1 ton load for all I care. Until "they" make the inner screen as durable as the average slab it's still a fragile P.O.S.

I hope Oneplus open 2 will be mostly like this but better software and cameras.

Still waiting for foldable with around 3-3.5x telephoto camera that would have like 200 megapixels for flexible lossless zoom.

Ouifuf, 4 hours agoTo me it makes complete sense. You still get the good npu f... morethermal issues will still arise. Number of cores doesn't equal to high heat output, the power used does. Now since there's one fewer core, won't the phone have to be pushed even harder for the same result? Then what?

And no, cameras AREN'T good for 99% of people, an 8 MP 1/4" UW cam is absurd and only reserved for midrangers. This is all a massive downgrade compared to the Find N3, which was the best photography foldable at the time. They perfected the foldable phone with the Find N3 and failed to follow their own success. A shame. Thinness and the large battery are nice and all but having to pay such a premium for such a compromised experience is not gonna be that great. The X Fold3 Pro is a better phone than this despite being older.

You still get the good npu for AI and the get to put the name of the flagship cpu in your marketing material but you don't have to deal with thermal issues or whatever other problems you can face with a powerful soc in a really thin phone.

And while the cameras won't be as good as non foldable flagships, they're still good enough and will work fine for 99% of people

Nikojas, 5 hours agoLooks like a good improvement on the Original Open / N3. I ... moreAgreed.

These guys are complainjng about an Ultrawide Camera. Forgive me but isnt the Ultrawide supposed to have 1 purpose and thats a wide angle camera picture? Do people takw such a picture and zoom in considersble toa narrow subject view while expecting great quality???

Releasing with an up to date SoC (previous midel released a year prior)!
                      Larger battery capacity and lifespan!
Thinner and lighter yet much stronger with IPX6/8/9!!
(Most impressive being IPX9 none of comoetition has this!!)
                      Faster Wired [80W] & Wireless [50W] charging !!

Were still in the dark about any new software innovations and synergies but with ColorOS/oxygenOS being on par in terms of decent navigation, better lock screen options than OneUI 7 it's a contender. Should both drop pen support pricing will be crittical- especially with 🇺🇸 trade hikes.

What the hell are you talking about.?!!??

Ouifuf, 6 hours agoIf you're buying a phone like this camera and performa... morePerformance will obviously be decent for multitasking, no doubt. However my point is that an 8 Core SD 8 Elite would've led to far superior experience in video exporting/other heavy tasks like that. Having a nerfed SoC on a flagship foldable isn't confidence inspiring, wouldn't you say?

And cameras look terrible on paper. I love Oppo's processing but they can't shine turd into gold. The 8 MP cameras are hideous.

Anonymous, 8 hours agoOnly in your imagination.. In fact, i have never seen so... moreI have seen someone use the Oneplus Open in my gym. I've only seen around 5-8 foldables being used around me and one of them was a Oneplus. Now what? Does that mean, by your logic, Oneplus owns 1/5th to 1/8th of the foldable market and thus is awesome!?!? Does that mean that since most flagship phone buyers are STILL Apple users, android phones suck and therefore Samsung is terrible and should be removed as a brand? Believe it or not, Samsung phones are cheap, compared to Apple phones. So your logic of "cheap looking" makes perfect sense for Samsung. Samsung uses far inferior vibration motors and speakers compared to Apple phones. Go try out an iPhone and then use a Samsung phone and you'll know what I mean.

Peter UK, 5 hours agoI would not be surprised if that's a typo and it'... moreWould that be the right top corner one? Not sure it looks that tiny?

As for the comment below this one I have to agree, more than happy to sacrifice UW for bigger battery and faster charging tech. I take plenty of photos on my S23 Ultra and have to say I take potentially 1 UW photo every 100 regular ones which are mostly main camera and zoom ones.

Looks like a good improvement on the Original Open / N3. I can live with one less good camera in exchange for a bigger battery. Hope the pricing doesn't end my desire to buy one.

Peter UK, 5 hours agoI would not be surprised if that's a typo and it'... more"I would not be surprised if that's a typo and it's actually going to be the same 48Mpix sensor from N3."

Sad to mention it, but that can not happen, it's already obvious just looking at the pictures, that the top right sensor, which is the ultrawide, is absolutely tiny.

O, 8 hours agoIt doesn't, it's confirmed to have a tiny sensor ... moreI would not be surprised if that's a typo and it's actually going to be the same 48Mpix sensor from N3. It simply make no sense to downgrade on quality from previous model especially when it's to be a premium device. Unless there will be some AI pixel pump up to increase on quality but I guess we just have to wait and see
