Early projections are 20 million out the gate. Again, it's just a projection. That would be about 5 million more than the best year for total foldable sales, which was 2023. It would also be about 15-16 million more than Samsung's best book fold sales, which was the Z3 or Z4.

    Remember just a phone, or iPhone that folds still overly LARGE icons and huge canvas of wasted space that only roughly 70% of 3rd party apps and Safari actually utilize. Sorry I've used iOS for 15yrs before going to Android for 1.5yrs solely [OneUI 5.6.x and 6.1 ~ 7months prior with LG Nexus 4 on AndroidOS 4 Gingerbread?, and again on Sony Xperia 5 for 7 months] and I can tell you its STILL a slower OS to navigate and use daily and lots of wasted background space JUST to show separation.

    its antiquated!

    Apple will waste NO TIME making it SUPER expensive!
    If you recall the iPhone X and XS launch ... not a lot of people purchased those in their initial year respectively, more did later on in the OS supported lifecycle though.

          Apple will raise the profile of foldables and push them mainstream. I've been writing this for years. There was no projection that foldables go mainstream without Apple. Their involvement will have a trickle effect. Everyone will benefit. People keep forgetting Samsung is a supplier of parts to other companies. Their success is money in Samsung's pocket.

Issue is that its super time consuming and pricy to make... but some people calculated that end device would cost the same as current foldables as current foldables are super overpriced as technology and machinery to make current UTG already paid for it self.

                Its the same as with batteries. We had better and new ways to make batteries for like last 15 years, as labs all around the world make test with different materials and methods but no company will invest in it as they dont care about 25% better efficiency or charging cycles if they need to pay more to make them.

                  Ah yes. Wait for others to do all R&D and refine technology, then jump in front when everything is ready and say you invent it all...

                          UTG is the closest thing and what seems to be mentioned in the article, Apple may put thicker glass on thr non-foldable area then make it thinner on the middle. Still the same thing.

                                  I wont be surprised to see that Apple becomes the top foldable phone maker with its first release itself overtaking Samsung.

                                    Nothing but gimmick just like the vision pro.
                                    Make it foldable and GG Victus or better to not scratch by a tooth pick and we have a real deal. Othervise its nothing than gimmick and dont say its not possible.
                                    Same been said about regular foldable phones.
                                    Same been said about not beating Mach 1 speeds, same been said about speeds of the light etc. In past many believed there is nothing harder than diamond and voilaaa we are in era where even a diamond been surpased.
                                    Because someone didi not invent it yet does not means its not possible to make, create, develop, construct, build etc.
                                    Just like Burj Khalifa tallest building n world.
