The 6gen1 is extermely efficient. When the hardware is practically similar yet there's discrepancy in battery life, it usually points out to the software.

potato4k, 16 Feb 2025Probably more of inefficiency of eMUI, err I mean Magic UI ... moreI think it's both optimization on CPU and screen.
Here in Serbia this phone was reviewed by renowned PC site and after 10 hours of YT playback, with brightness set to 50%, battery showed 56%, which is a little better than Magic6 Lite (showed 50% after 10hr playback).

By reviewer, culprit could be the screen, which is considerably brighter than predecessor (4000 nits on 7 Lite compared to 1200 nits on 6 Lite).
If brightness can indeed reach 4000 nits, then 1300 mAh battery boost means nothing.
My opinion is that phones don't need brightness over 2000 nits.

As for CPU, optimization is very crucial.
I would like to mention Sony Xperia 10 VI and compare to Magic 6 Lite
    - uses same SD 6 Gen1 CPU with smaller battery (5000mAh vs 5300mAh on Magic 6 Lite)
    - screen brightness is cca 1000 nits vs cca 1200 nits
    - by German PC reviewer, power draw on this Sony phone is EXCEPTIONALLY low and well optimized, and here are comparison between Magic6 Lite and 10 VI (measured in Watts):
Standy by: 0.25W for Honor / 0.13W for Sony
Idle Min: 0.93W for Honor / 0.62W for Sony
Idle Avg: 2.26W for Honor / 0.94W for Sony
Idle Max: 2.31W for Honor / 0.97W for Sony
Load Avg: 7.87W for Honor / 3.36W for Sony
Load Max: 8.55W for Honor / 8.54W for Sony

To give conclusion, Honor did masterful job optimizing SD695 for Magic5 Lite, however, they failed for both Magic6 Lite and 7 Lite, and both phones utilize same CPU - 6Gen1

potato4k, 16 Feb 2025Go look at their call time. I’ll wait.Wow, what an argument. This is combined battery life not just call time. I didn't know that u just using your smartphone just for calls. U are probably one in the world. If is that so, u don't need smartphone, u can get Nokia 3310. Why to spend more than 20€ 😆

I mean 15h is not bad score (esp call time), but there is 6600mah battery, it sould be 17h. Samsung have that bade man process, that they buys socs from Qualcom for their S25 line up. lol

The issue is in the software. But this Magic7 Lite still has good battery life. This is not a bad number. So it's weird so many people bashing this phone. Meanwhile, they're all defending Xiaomi's trash battery life.

Aierlan, 16 Feb 2025Xiaomi and Samsung basically dominate gsmarena but that is ... moreyeah very few interested in Asus, most GSMArena visitors are not from which country Samsung is more popular.. it's India and Indonesia, in India Vivo is more popular and Indonesia Oppo is more popular the entire Southeast Asia is dominated by Oppo too... which also has a lot of visitors here, including from the Philippines. You can check similarweb, this is not a surprise because these country has a lot of people.

rizki1, 16 Feb 2025not Chinese phone look Zenfone 12 Ultra review only lasted ... moreXiaomi and Samsung basically dominate gsmarena but that is to be expected. These are the two most widely available brands and they get by far the most coverage. Very few people are interested in the Asus Zenfone and it's available in very few countries. Personally I'd love to see more coverage of OPPO, Vivo, Huawei and Honor but I also realize that gsmarena is a business that has to pay its staff. None of them are doing this out of the goodness of their hearts. Therefore they will always focus more on phones and brands that are more widely available and especially in English speaking markets and Europe as it's an English language site based in Europe. Hence, if you look at the volume of reviews you can see that Xiaomi and Samsung dominate the Android brands on gsmarena as they are the biggest and most popular brands especially in Europe. Unfortunately, brands like OPPO and Vivo are not widely available in Europe still for example as they have had legal patent issues which have curtailed their presence in many countries, and they have very little presence in English speaking countries (Vivo is not available at all in the UK for example). I think your comment equally applies to Xiaomi. You'll see plenty of Coverage of the Xiaomi 15 series in early March and the Xiaomi 15 ultra will have an extra long review. Not all phones are given equal treatment. Gsmarena make the most money out of Samsung and Xiaomi (probably Apple too but they only have a big launch once a year) and therefore they will give priority to these. The main goal of any business is to maximize profits

Still, this is not bad. Look at the 40hour call time. That to me is the closer measure if the hardware. The rest relies a lot on the OS and process manager.
