They could've changed the lens to f/1.6 at least.. And add humanistic photography mode to the camera app. Those would've been acceptable upgrades that cost very little on Vivo's side.

        Vivo V50 has 0 selling points at this price. Other than 50mp UW camera ofcourse. Lol.

              LOL, and yeah the V30 Pro is the only compelling phone you're talking about here but even then, this phone strikes back with a 1000 mah larger battery and the modern looking quad curved screen. Let's wait for the reviews and see how the battery life numbers are.

                But if selfies are the most important for someone, then Xiaomi 14 Civi is even better than Vivo V50 considering it has dual selfie cameras with 1 UW and 1 with AF, both 1/2.8 sensor. And they still have 8s Gen 3 + 2x Telephoto for the same price.

                Also you can save a lot with Realme 14 Pro +. And you get 3x Periscope Telephoto + 32mp 1/2.8 selfie with AF. And 7s Gen 3 is barely 10% behind 7 Gen 3. Its only the UW camera that Vivo is charging extra for.

                To make things even worse, Vivo V30 Pro is available for same price as Vivo V50 currently. You get better processor, 2x Telephoto camera and same front camera with Vivo V30 Pro.

And the Y series phones are super budget phones with worse ISP, the V series most likely won't be AS BAD as that in videography but will certainly not be great as it doesn't have a flagship chip/ISP

Samsung, Apple AND Google use sensors that are 1/3" and smaller. This phone has a larger aperture and a larger sensor for the selfies.

                            The only complaint would've been this being "only" the JN1 and not the amazing JN5 and the fact that it could've been wider but this is already wider than the iPhone and the Galaxy. I don't really see the issue with this phone specifically. I'd say in general selfie cams are horrendous and we NEED JN5 or better sensors as selfie cams but again, what exactly is your point? Go take a look at the V40's camera samples and then talk.

                                      And the 35 (3000 INR increase compared to V40) dollar price hike is weird. They're giving you essentially the same phone for the 3rd time yet charging more for it. Value doesn't increase with a price increase unless the features also upgrade by a proportionate amount. A 500 mah bump in battery isn't big enough tho the micro curved screen looks beautiful and modern. Dunno really, kinda torn on this. Wish they had the same price for the base model. Weirdly tho the top model is cheaper LOL INR 40,999 ($472) for the V50 vs INR 41,600 ($479) for the V40. For a midranger i think we all know the base model is the one that'll sell the most so they intentionally did it for the base model but ngl the top model doesn't look like a bad deal i think, 70 dollars more for a 512 gb model instead of a 128 gb one.
