iPhone SE 4’s modem lacks mmWave support

Apple’s first in-house modem will also offer fewer carrier aggregation features than Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line Snapdragon X75 modem.

Useless feature regardless of a brand who willing to use it.
Just like with satelite support.
Complettely useless for 99,99% of the world.
Only few moutain hokers and cavemans will find it usefull.

I was also led to believe that the majority of Indian-assembled iPhones are the lower-end iPhone 16s. Anyway, India hasn't been assembling iPhones for as long as China, so there's more risk of an assembly fault.

          Plus, assembled in India is not the same as made in India, assembly is likely top notch in the Indian facility of Apple.

              this modem could be a good thing for se.

              good for apple
              less cost, better optimization, better battery life as mmWave can drain battery quickly.

              good for users
              better battery life, hardware/software optimization can provide better speed/performance.

              It is mostly a line of sight technology.

              Apple really got insanely lucky with Apple Silicon, considering how they struggle to produce a modem good enough for their main line of phones. I'd expected more, especially since this modem has been in research and development for years now

                Who cares? Only US iPhones have mmWave. Even the iPhones with superior Qualcomm modem don’t have mmWave antennas for the rest of the world. It’s literally a US only thing, and it’s a huge misstep as it dampens 5G expansion in the US, since even a few leaves on a tree can block mmWave.

                Which isn't a huge issue for 2 reasons.

                1. Not available in most places worldwide, in europe it is nearly non existent even on phones.

                2. The speeds are amazing, but a single wall can casually make that half or worse.

                Aka nothing of true value has been lost.
