Fun fact, back in the 2022 i had a samsung A52s 5g (the goat) and my friend had iphone 12 pro max.
We played cod mobile together in summer in his car, with both of us setting the maximum setting in the game. Like, both set to maximum framrate and graphic quality. His iphone 12 pro max would get hot and reduce the brightness to a level that it was impossible to play. Meanwhile, my a52s handled it like a champ.

But domestic brands keep using it just because they are cheaper than korean oled.

Anonymous, 19 Feb 2025So the HDR on Samsung's phone screens is fake because ... moreYeah, I've always hated how Samsung does HDR too. Everything on the screen gets super bright and just looks like SDR content with extra brightness. Every other Android phone seems to display HDR how it's supposed to with UI elements being at regular SDR brightness and HDR actually being HDR.

Who cares about Apple. S25 Ultra will still be better than that garbage ruined by $cked up software ruining 5 out of 10 pictures. Wont be surprised if they still have 60hz screen phones in 2025!

From what I've read, 8-bit panels use all sorts of tricks to fake HDR. For a panel to display true HDR, it needs to have 1 billion colors and that's only available on 10-bit panels and above.

Wesker, 19 Feb 2025Probably no 90hz on vanilla models till 2030 thoughThere's already been a ton of rumors before that the vanilla phones this year will actually get 120hz, so unless Apple does decide to just lock the high refresh rate to the Pro phones, it'll probably happen.

No surprises here, Samsung always sold top tier panels to Apple and others, but never used them even on their own S series flagships.

It's ironical how even the S25 Ultra is still using a mid tier 8 bit LTPO panel, while they sell top tier 10 bit ones to Apple.

Explains how Samsung can drop the price of their phones that much and that quickly not long after release...
