Talking about "the average person" here. And even enthusiasts will generally forgive huge errors for their favorite brands, only in China will you see proper and fair competition, well as fair as it gets.

jiyen235, 19 hours ago>there's no issue
>there's a self-imposed ... moreIt has absolutely nothing to do with the market, but marketing led design. It's an easy metric for marketing to focus on. According to the market research I've seen, people almost always choose more battery life in a binary choice between thinness and battery life. Same goes for thinner camera bulge vs thicker and better camera. Anyway the Mate XT has an enormous bulge (as the body is so thin). Nobody seems to care or even comment on it. But that device will be a total failure outside China due to its enormous price and lack of Google Services.
But back to the original point ... the V4 is intended to have a photography experience on par with the 7 Pro according to my sources at an Honor distributor.

Top selling foldables are with older chips, because they are more pocket friendly. Razr 50, Tecno Fold 2, OnePlus Open are the current top sellers with older chipset.

>there's a self-imposed issue
BRUH LOL, the issue is due to the nature of the market. If they do make it too thin people like you will complain, if they make it thick and have other things in a splendid conditions normies will complain as they don't really care about great cameras. It's a lose-lose situation that's why they go for thinner folds as it's easier to advertise, helps them stand out more, is more eye catching and most importantly it helps drive costs lower because if they can make an extremely thin fold they can make a slightly less thin fold even more easily.

A thicker camera island really doesn't matter if the rest of the phone is thin - and it's never going to be thin anyway being a folder.

Unless they cut the battery in half or increase the thickness by 2-3 mm, i don't see any chance of the phone having both a 1/1.3" massive main sensor AND a 1/1.4" massive telephoto sensor alongside a relatively large 5150 mah battery.
I assume it'd be at best the quality of the Magic7 with a 0.5-1mm bump in thickness at best. I'd be genuinely shocked if they manage to fit a 1/2" telephoto and a 1/1.3" main cam in the same frame as the V3.

It would make more sense for them to re-use the package from the 7 Pro than waste money on developing a new package. V3 level is not their goal.

This is quite likely to have the rear camera setup of the Magic 7 Pro. If so, it immediately stands head and shoulders above anything else foldable.

YouNeedToListen, 21 Feb 2025its about Timing, you cant release New phone with 8 month o... more Your right tho , I mean I regret buying some phones because the chip was good but suddenly a new chip with familiar price tag comes and a bit of 40-50$ is worth the +30-40% better performance or anything.
I still regret my one plus Nord 3 choice.
Lots of 8000 phones are now cheaper ( Dimensity)
While 9000 is flagship , the current 8400 is also good.
Or 7gen 3.
Its not just chip but cheap.
New phones come at similar price more battery ( si/c batteries are new )
