iPhone 16e is a practice run for the iPhone 17 air. Single camera, chassis designed for large area battery, and I predict no magnetic qi2.

if they didn't charge a hefty amount of money for AI, this will be a just $450 device

How is this article a hot take? A real hot take would be something like "This is a blatant cash grab from Apple, here are better alternatives:"

It will be very popular among American teenagers, it will sell very well in the USA! Once outside of that country, we will see how much it sells.

The iPhone 16e isn't an iPhone SE. The iPhone SE is an iPhone for people who want an iPhone but aren't willing to pay a lot(relatively) for it. My guess is that the iPhone 16e is probably an iPhone for customers who bought iPhones 15 and 14(base and Plus) and want the AI, but are hesitant to spend another $800 to upgrade to 16 since just a year or two ago they spent $800 plus on the iPhones 15 and 14.

Where is the hot take in this article? It's just a review of things we already know...

Personally I don't understand why anyone would get the 16e when you could get a iPhone 16 from resalers at almost the same price.

Same with the iPad mini 7.

All those reviewer keep giving excuse.. jelly scroll not fix..

                  Do not compromise.
                  Do not give excuses.

                  Do not buy this phone.

It's definitely not for people who want a small phone since it's as large as every other vanilla iPhone since the 12. It's significantly larger than previous SEs or the minis, and certainly too wide for the average person to use one-handed. For barely any more money you get a much more capable device and the exact same form factor as this. Who is this for, indeed?

Most bull$Π|t Apple product ever. This thing should've stayed at $450, had more colour options and had MagSafe, and even that is questionable in terms of value proposition. Apple can get away with doing this precisely because the only person they're really competing with is themselves.

a +700euro phone isn't an "upper midrange" phone, it's a damn flagship one.
also, most would choose this over the 15 due to the AI crap, i refuse to use their marketing bs of a name to refer to it.
