Foldable phones won't make a big difference in their sale targets. It is simply easier to just release it in China because if enthusiast wants to buy it they can.

Probably it’s about their accumulator, some problem with rights in Europe.New technologies, envy and patent denial.

They sent review units to UK reviewers and held a briefing about the N5 in London. So looks like it was a very last minute decision not to launch in Europe. I wonder why they changed their minds. The NotFound N5...

They explained it with business policy reasons. So they concluded that in Europe they will not release the N5 but the Reno 13 series.
However, it is wrong to talk about a "global" launch, if it is a launch for China, Singapore and some other Asian countries, because it is against the very meaning of the word "global".

vik457, 24 Feb 2025They'll say that while ignoring 1/3,94" f/2.4 3x ... moreyeah but at least that's usable. The 8 MP 1/4.0" cam here is absolutely useless.
I understand that the Samsung's zoom cams are horrendous but Oppo's UW cam is a tier below that and that's simply unacceptable at this price point. Moreover, Oppo's video stabilization isn't that great anymore either for some reason. Their Find X7 series had exceptional stabilization but later phones have mid stabilization. Just an all around bad situation.
Idk what Oppo and Vivo have done this year but their stabilization is poorer compared to their past years in video, that's just weird man, the video quality is better but the stabilization is worse. I don't know how these guys pull out the weirdest errors possible.

Oneplus fan, 24 Feb 2025Why in europe cant sell cool chineese phones, only crappy ip... moreI think in the case of Oppo is that they are still in a legal fight over patent infringements and Oppo sales were never stellar in Europe in comparison with OnePlus (while it's actually largely the same stuff with some badge engineering).
Oh and I don't know if Chinese stuff is that cool but that's a question of taste.

rizki1, 24 Feb 2025Didn't Oppo enter the Europe last year? banned in 2023... moreWhat ?
Oppo first entered the european market in 2018.
It left some european markets in 2022 (Germany first) when it lost it's trial against nokia over 4G and 5G patents (patents EP486 and EP731 )and had to pay catch-up payments and annouced its return in 2024 after reaching a agreement over a settlement (https://ipfray.com/nokia-oppo-5g-patent-dispute-settled-with-license-agreement-after-more-than-2-5-years-and-oppo-leaving-germany/).
Oppo couldn't operate because they couldn't use nokia tech for a while, it has nothing to do with a "european ban"

Then consumers wonders why Samsung puts almost ZERO effort in innovation about foldables... no OPPO, No HUAWEI, no VIVO = No Competition = No pressure 🤷♂️
In Europe you only have the choice between Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and (not everywhere) Huawei Magic V and that's really sad
