Adobe Photoshop arrives on the iPhone, is coming to Android later this year

Most users are commenting that it’s useless, but I personally find it handy—especially if you want to work from your bed when you're feeling lazy 😆. It’s also useful for making minor changes while traveling or for those who don’t own a PC or Mac but still want to try it out. Overall, I see it as a tool that lets me access my files, make quick edits, and seamlessly continue my work on my PC or MacBook.

such a pointless product. I didn't think adobe could sink this low, but they managed to prove me wrong. Impressive.

Sammy, 26 Feb 2025I don't think anyone will be using this app profession... moreThat's pretty much the case I feel - if you're a professional, you're not editing anything on a phone (why would you possibly do that when you have proper equipment for editing?), while if you're just a casual person taking pictures, the vast majority of what you would want to use for editing is literally available within built-in gallery apps. Google Photos and Samsung's Gallery app both can do everything except the PSD editing (who cares?) and the layer part (again, who cares on a phone), I'm sure other OEMs' apps have the same selection/recolor/erase/generate AI content stuff built-in at this point as well...for free.

At this point, adobe is really desperate for new customers (though most users would still prefer to work on a larger screen like tabs, laptops, and desktops).
Adobe just refuse to believe and admit, that the "AI! AI! AI!" was the breaking point.
Their scummy subscription model and the ever increasing price tag with little to no software improvement did make customers unhappy (and the implementation of the subscription model was never about safety, security, and anti-piracy).
Couple that with a scummier $100-ish fee when you un-subscribe to the subscription.
But the "AI! AI! AI!" was the breaking point.
Now, customers are leaving Adobe for Affinity and / or DaVinci Resolve.
Why adobe is now really desperate for new customer subscribers.
Ain't no body to blame but adobe themselves.
They did it to themselves and continue to do it themselves and never learn.
(Insert "self inflicted pain, but blame others bike meme").

I don't think anyone will be using this app professionally on their phone. And those who want to modify their photos for fun, there are many free tools already available.
