Anonymous, 28 Feb 2025>Ahead of the MWC, Tecno announced the world's thin... morethe article writer made a mistake. I'm 90% sure he was trying to refer to the marketing claim of the world's thinnest phone with a 5200 mah battery and that'd be the correct claim. It's the thinnest phone ever i think with a 5000+ mah battery.

DashF, 28 Feb 2025It's lighter
Just buy dogee pro max or something if... moreLike I said in a comment below, just because it makes it lighter does not justify the plenty of cons it brings.
Those are: less space for a big battery, less space for a proper cooling system and hence, not as good performance, increased fragility, and just in general less space for all hardware components.

Nice to see that the protrusion is not that huge AND that it is full width, so it can be used on a table.
Thin is a natural development to be able to make the Z or G type foldables in reasonable thickness, so I guess what we see is a trickle down effect.
Though it would be perfect for the inner pocket of a formal jacket, for most other use-cases it will likely be too fragile.

David 040882, 28 Feb 2025What even are the advantages of having a thinner smartphone... morevery comfortable to hold and the sides being flat means you get plenty of grip. Larger phones being heavier and thicker leads to them feeling like bricks with flat sides and backs whereas these thin phones are perfect for this modern trend of flat everything. I do wish we could go back to curved back/side phones as they feel far more comfortable for me but the industry really loves making new problems and solving them for the consumer.

Wrong. Oppo R5 from a decade ago is still thinner. I guess at that time, the author was not on this site already (unlike me)

We are doing 2014-2017 again?
Didnt we already learned that current batteries are not good for ultra slim batteries? As we still use exactly the same batteries as back then(as none of companies use new techniques to make them)

We really should go back to using the widest measurement like in the old days
Having a so called thin phone with a twice as thick camera bump is just ridiculous
