It has one of the best smartphone cameras that we've seen yet and it's a great all-round flagship too, but it's not cheap.

      vivo X200 Ultra is not even out afaik. Let's wait before we start judging. It's between it and the Xiaomi 15 Ultra for the best camera phone of 2025.

Highly unrealistic i'd say. Look at Vivo, they had to downgrade the main cam to 1/1.28" for the 35 mm lens.

                        Additionally, it's a very big gamble for the company to move on from the industry standard 23-25mm main cam to something different. They're already risking it all with the bleeding edge tech, adding another risk would be too much i'd say.

B... moreoh wow, as if that was a huge hurdle to cross for them lol, the 14 ultra was already on par or better than those phones in terms of photography. This phone extends that lead with a comparable user experience apart from software where Oneplus/Oppo are simply 1-2 steps ahead.

Wait for 2-4 months and you'll see the S Ultra priced closer to a base Xiaomi flagship than a Xiaomi Ultra

                                  If you currently have a Xiaomi 14 or 13 Ultra, best to wait still. If you have a 4-5 year old one, then it's best to upgrade as you'll 100% feel the difference.

It's literally a no-contest for the Xiaomi, especially when the S25 Ultra 512GB is about $250 more expensive and it's literally no different than the S24 Ultra.

                                        Should have an option for "No, I'm sticking to last year's predecessor". The loss of variable aperture on the main camera is a huge bummer.
