Oppo Pad 4 Pro to debut with Snapdragon 8 Elite in April

Anonymous, 03 Mar 2025What’s a CF Express Type B slot, Hanzo Hasashi-san?It is a Memory Card standard (the connector), it use 2 PCIe lanes and currently supports upto Gen 4 at speeds up to 4000 MB/s.

There are also kits available that you can use to adapt a common 2230 NVMe/M.2 SSD to the SF Express Type B standard for up to 2 TB of capacity.

These are commonly found in high end cameras often targetted a high data rate imagery which allows the camera buffer to clear faster or directly store images and videos.

There is also CF Express Type A but it is far less common and as far as I know, only SONY uses it in there cameras. Type only uses 1 PCIe lane so it is much slower than Type B but also slightly thinner and more compact, and you cannot make your own type A card.

              I get how you would interpret it but I just want to point out that m.2 slots on ARM is a thing already and not too difficult to add even with USB 4.0. although for now I'd be more than happy with 3.2 Gen 2 ports.

              I'd love for it to be Linux but android is supposedly getting the terminal feature on the next release which if it works like how it does on linux would be awesome.

              I am a relatively new Linux user and despite its shortcomings, I find it far more suited to me than whatever microsoft has done to windows. Android is perfectly fine with me as well.

              Just want an unlockable bootloader so the community can keep the device alive even when the manufacturer abandones it.

                That's why the likes of ROG Ally have physical gamepad controls too.

Especially with mobile games that support gyroscope aiming, it is a underrated feature and pretty ground breaking in my opinion. Now I can use gyro on bigger tabs but it isn't comfortable.

                  I just want options. I get why big tabs are popular but something bridging the gap between tabs and phones is necessary.

                  Phablets should make a comeback cause I hate modern aspect ratios on phones with a passion. They are bleh. 18:9/2:1 is the narrowest a phone should be.

                    Not only does it come with a 2230 m.2 slot, it is a tool-less hatch that uses magnets. It runs on ARM SoC, the SD X Elite.

                    And although I'm not sure of it but I think X Elite series has support for USB 4. No reason they can't bring it to 8 Elite. That will actually compete with iPad Pro's Thunderbolt Port.

                    Again I am not sure if USB 4 is a feature on X Elite chips. Do not quote me.


                    EDIT: I just checked and the Surface Pro 11th gen (SD X Elite) does have USB 4.0.

                        Like come on companies, we DON'T new new 10-12" inch tablets every year. Not Oppo, but apart from the performance, I don't see much different between Samsung Tab S10+ and my 5 years old Tab S7+.

                          I am guessing vivo will also launch the tablet alongside x200 ultra but with D9400+

                              I ve read an article on daily-gadget.net : apparently the leaker is "Digital Chat Station" , and this 8 inch xiaomi-redmi tablet will be powered by a dimensity 9400 or dimensity 9400+ and will be released in the 3rd quarter of 2025

                              PS : notebookcheck has relayed the leak with a "Leak reiterates features and launch info of upcoming Redmi gaming tablet" article

Sounds promising, just hope it's priced well and good harware features. Or at the very least, good storage options.
