      -set contrast +2
      -set color saturation +2
      -advertise it as brand new camera

Hon... moreYeah, this is a cheap $2 sensor added to help them fool the budget demographics into thinking that will somehow fix the chronic issues coming with the low budget main sensor they use. The confidence job here is to make people think that ultralow resolution sensor equals full accuracy on colours. Even though it can't even see 48 million of the pixel locations of the main sensor.

              Why not just use a better sensor and lenses for the main camera?

                Color sensors like this are the number one thing I check for each year when new S series phones come out.

                Bravo Tecno for improving them even further.

                  Just like color space omparison between SRGB versus P3. Honestly this sensor+algor combo "trick" is gimmicky to me. You can achieve similar results just by increasing color vibrancy with any basic photo editing app

                      Sounds cool. The question is how well will it be implemented?

                        From the sea of useless macro and depth cameras, Tecno is giving something really useful to their cameras thanks to this

                          The last time 2mp was practical was the Lenovo Z series with their dedicated big pixel low light 2mp


                          There is hope for 2mp

                            They should try using the 2mp camera as a autofocus module too and for identifying the dynamic range too

                              Tecno's making a solid case for itself to be a secondary helping hand for a top tier company with these innovations as im sure no one really cares about all this stuff in midrange phones if sheer value isn't there.
