The Samsung Galaxy K Zoom provided a 10x mechanical zoom without losing any quality.

You could carry a lens inside the phone without having to swap lenses or forcing the user to carry around a set of lenses and modules.

Why don't they take up this concept and improve it or update it today?

    Hell yeah!! I like this.

Sure, that means the 1-inch sensor is basically unusable unless you attach a lens, but you are getting REAL lens optics once you do.

I don't care who did it first. The fact is this is still a 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 niche concept. It's awesome regardless. Maybe Realme could design some compact lenses specifically for this phone. I mean like a very flat pancake wide angle lens, for everyday photography. Also, they could design custom lenses that use optically-clear plastic instead of glass to reduce the weight.

I admit this still seems quite bulky to be usable, but hopefully future concepts will reduce the size of the adapter.

hev.c, 04 Mar 2025Cool, but seriously, what is the point of this? Instead of ... moreIdeal would be lens for type 1.0.

          They updated the Cosworth Vega!

Lol 😂 so disappointing. Xiaomi did this years ago and Realme CEO was calling this groundbreaking technology.

Xiaomi's Micro 4/3 attachment camera concept is far better, compact and actually made sense from usability pov.

Cool, but seriously, what is the point of this? Instead of carrying around large interchangeable lens with you, you may as well just carry a professional camera with the interchangeable lens, which will also shoot much better photos than a phone. If you are very much into photography, I highly doubt you would prefer a smartphone with an interchangeable lens over a professional camera with an interchangeable lens.

I just don't get the point??

                Just a thought.

I like the idea of having accessories (in this case, lenses) for the optical (camera)

But what about accessories (in this case, audio jacks) the acoustic side?
I mean not just the generic USB-C headphone jack, 3.5 mm and / or 2.5 mm headphone jack, & bluetooth buds.
                I mean something like a USB-C to 5.1 or 7.1 audio, S/PDIF, or TOSLINK.

                Just a food-for-thought.

Did they allow tontake photos with it?

Chinese manufacturers are all working hard, trying to bring concepts to reality and innovating with many things!! while Apple, Samsung and Google are doing the same thing...
