Instead of adding artificial weight they could have just put in more battery lol

DarlingYext, 18 hours agoFor what reason?Future phones? Paper-thin & lightweight! Batteries get smaller, but more capacity. Cameras shrink, but get better... Time to say bye-bye to old big, heavy brick phones. That's called innovation.
Nobody's carrying big, heavy bricks phone in the future. Innovation means making things smaller and better.

DarlingYext, 18 hours agoFor what reason? For the same reason mainframe was reduced to tower top to PC to laptop to ipad to smartphone. I don't think the younger generation are aware of the evolution of the technology. Five years from now you'll laugh at yourself for thinking that Tecno Spark is too light/slim... Because it's doubtful smartphones will exist in their current form factor. I don't think people in the near future will accept carrying a power hungry smartphone when they travel, for the same reason they don't carry their PC (or laptop) anymore. I've seen the whole evolution from the beginning, but it's not easy for the younger people to understand/perceive it. Maybe 15 years ago I saw how "computers" started moving into our eyes as lenses. This is not science fiction, but science reality!

I find it really interesting that they "artificially added weight to the phone", when other manufacturers are trying to shed weight off their products.
We really need to stop with the strange marketing idea that "heavy = premium". Phones being light is actually good.

this device just LOOKS comfy! The curved edges, the light frame. I at first thought the weight was a tad high for what it is but these madlads actually ADDED weight, HAHA! Now that's some crazy innovation.
In all honesty, there's no necessity of going beyond 6.5 mm. curved sides mean that you're going to have an amazing experience. I still remember being blown away by the iPhone X/iPhone 11 Pro due to the curved sides, and then they ruined it all by flattening everything. The Galaxy S8/S10 were some of the comfiest phone i ever held. And an iPhone 8 felt too thin at one point to me when i held it lol, crazy that it was a 7.3 mm phone which should feel thick compared to this 5.75 mm one.
Interesting innovation, regardless of actual use cases, bravo Tecno!

Still have my moto z2 which is almost the same thickness, plus it's an actual metal body. Phone companies today cannot make something like that

the back design is beautiful

Phones will increasingly diminish in size, until they become an integral and seamless part of the human body. Nobody like to go around with a brick that must constantly be charged. The question is where will it be placed... Maybe somewhere close to the brain in order to avoid all the cabling.

First every brand makes ai now slim. Very useless.
