Darth Caesium, 7 hours agoWhy does this even exist? Google's always focusing on ... moreGoogle should focus on Tensor G5 and focus on improving camera sensors. Rest is everything is fine with Google Pixel series. Maybe they should use UFS 4.0.

I'd rather it launched with a chipset that wasn't 2 generations behind proper flagships. The main reason I've not bought one to date.

randomlatinman, 6 hours agoThey are probably doing this because they wanna charge for ... morePay for an assistant? No thanks. I disable them anyway.

these so called assistants, should be disabled by default, and when i say disabled, i mean in a coffin, not a wheelchair...

omg on device ai! took them 2 years of marketing ai on their phones to finally bring that haha

I can already imagine the presentation of the pixel 10, everything will be about AI that very few people use, honestly!! I don't see anyone around me using it... I hope they talk about more battery, a more efficient and powerful soc and a more powerful telephoto lens and a 6.9-inch panel, they are already more than enough in that regard, the only thing missing is battery life, controlled thermal management and a more powerful processor at the level of the Snapdragon 8 gen 3 at least and some more functions like double tap to turn off the screen

                    >All of the data processing is said to take place entirely on-device and some processes will be able to run even when you are offline

Shouldn't it all be offline if the action is on device? Obviously you won't be able to write an email offline, but the stuff that's possible offline should be

To all of you wondering what this is and why it needs to exist: AI Agents are THE next thing. RIght now, Gemini isnt really smart. Its rather stupid if you think about it. It can only search for inforamation and create pictures, but it cant do ANYTHING with your phone. GEmini doesnt know you. It doesnt remember you. Gemini doesnt even know it is running on a pixel phone.
If using a pixel, you know that you CANT ask gemini for the weather or to set an alarm for you. You will need to activate Google Assistant for this. Sense Assistant looks like the Agent the techworld (tech enthusiasts that is) are waiting for. An AI that knows what food you liek, were you work, where you live, who are your relatives (if you want it to know it) and can interact with this information. Rabbit R1 and Humane did praise the Agents, but they werent there. We will see how this works out, but Im sure that there will be only 1 assistant left. Ands maybe gemini will act more "google search", which it definitely is, rather than a LAM, hence an Agent.

That means I will definitely skip its presentation because instead of talking about hardware changes (Tensor with TSMC NODE!!) it will be all about AI features I don’t care about.

Noice! Soon enough we won't even need a phone. Just pay a subscription somewhere and things, magically, happen! 😮

They are probably doing this because they wanna charge for gemini, but don't want the impression that you have to pay to use your phone, so pixel users can keep using the same features (the actually useful ones) without having to pay extra for it.

Gemini and Google assistant implementation was bad this year. Glad they are fixing it in next year's model and will only have one assistant I hope!

Why does this even exist? Google's always focusing on the wrong things smh

Gemini and Google Assistant weren't enough, or will we just be getting a new AI assistant every 2 years?
