As long as it doesn't have an 8MP ultrawide this is a better phone than the Oppo Find N5 in a lot of hardware aspects.

sayabosanhidup, 07 Mar 2025i think they are current ly facing battery hindrance which ... moreSince we're speaking our "thoughts" out loud, here is what I think. I think SSBs involve more investment, R&D and innovation than silicon carbon. I think Samsung has been investing in oxide based solid state batteries because it has more potential for their business than silicon carbon. I think Samsung will show us a prototype SSB this year. I think these prototypes are being tested by other potential companies for use in their wearables. I think this SSB will be commercialized in 2026. Assuming there are no set backs, I think they will scale up production for EVs and mobiles sometime after.
I also think if Samsung invested in silicon carbon batteries and their competitors transitioned to SSBs, many folks like yourself would still criticize Samsung for not leading.
Let's see whose thoughts end up being closer to the truth.

Am i only one who thinks it is stupid to buy newest big folding phone when older one will be discounted around half the price after one year?
Those keep their value so bad.

Honor need to invest more money into their software R&D. Their UI, especially for fonts and DPI sizes are horrible. I always have to override the maximum width setting in Developer Options to get any reasonable looking notification area.

It won't have the 1/1.5" camera sensor if it has that periscope. It would be totally non-sensical. It supposedly has the same UW and periscope as the Magic 7 Pro, and from what I heard from an Honor distributor is supposed to provide a camera experience the same or on par with it. Degrading the main sensor to V3 level wouldn't save any appreciable space as the periscope module is much larger. It would also necessitate them developing an entirely new camera island rather than re-using the Magic 7 Pro's. IMO it either has exactly the same setup as the M7Pro, or the rumors are false and it doesn't have the periscope.

Darth Caesium, 07 Mar 2025Perhaps they'll reduce that using ALoP? Ngl, Honor bei... moreAnd I have doubts about them using alop, given the lenses and sensors they use. They refused to upgrade secondary sensors when their succesors came out and 24 mm lens on main cam has poorer rectilinearity than some 23 mm from others.

Meanwhile, Samsung will likely be stuck with a tiny battery and awful crease that's so apparent on the Fold 7.

If the V4 has the HP9 in it, then the camera bump is undoubtedly going to be massive. Someone posted a picture of the HP9 next to the X200 Pro on X and the thing was thicker than the body of the phone it was housed in. HP9 is pretty much why phones with said sensor have camera bumps that are just as large, if not larger, than their predecessors that lacked the HP9

It's exciting to see the gsmarena team excited about this. And great that there is such serious competing going on.
If only Samsung and Apple competed this hard imagine the specs we'd get!

How are these specs insane?
If it's going to be thinner, it won't be that much thinner. When they say under 9, it means it's close to 9 and we have already seen it in the N5, and making it even 8.5 won't make that much difference and it won't be "insane"
As for the pericope telephoto, it won't be "insane" either, cause they can just make the camera bump as big as they need. And we have already seen the 1/1.4 telephoto in other phones.
So none of these spec are "insane". If it was like, under 8 thickness and a 1 inch type main sensor, then you could call it insane ✌️
