Smart things, 08 Mar 2025512gb RAM😭😭😭💯💯💯🤝🤝🤝🤝🤩🤩🤩😍👍👍M3 Ultra Monster Ram 512GB + Storage 16TB This is when compared with GPU H200 Nvidia 141TB both Cost $30K Apple is the Best

    512gb RAM😭😭😭💯💯💯🤝🤝🤝🤝🤩🤩🤩😍👍👍

The point of the M3 Ultra is the support of 512GB of RAM. That's a huge deal for machines intended for AI tasks. Using Geekbench to value these machines is like using subway surfer to value the latest mobile SoCs.

Its because its geekbench 6. It doesnt scale well with a lot of cores. Check cinebench to see figures close to what apple is claiming.

Geekbench is a joke for this kind of system. More benchmarks with actual applications based on use case need to be done for comps. Now every device is an iphone and so Geekbench seem to be the stand for a 32 core CPU used in a desktop form factor

PureOS, 07 Mar 2025Why they didn't use 2nd generation 3nm process instead... moreThey can't, It's ALOT of engineering to convert architecture to another process

First gen 3nm is very different than 2nd gen, for all intents and purposes, 1st gen 3nm N3B is more like an Apple designed process.

Apple designed this in collaboration with tsmc to beat everyone to the punch for 3NM chips

1gen & 2nd gen 3nm are very simmilar in performance and as a result m4 max and m3 max are very similar in actual sustained performance

M4 can run alot faster but after throttling they're very similar

Why they didn't use 2nd generation 3nm process instead of 1gen?! They always screw up customers with something. But that will not stop them to ask a lot of money for it.

As had been said, it truly is disappointing. A phone CPU, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, with only 8 cores, scores the same single core score and 10 000 points in the multi core one. This thing has 4 times the number of cores and the multi core score is only 2.75 times higher. And it uses visibly more power and needs cooling. So it better be a pre-production issue, as this won't do. Considering the input power and cooling, it should score at least around 35 000 points if they want to remain competitive.

Those results seem bad. Really bad. Considering that is has more cores, it should at least have significantly faster multi core performance, but nope, it doesn't.
