Apple officially acknowledges delaying Siri's new AI features

06 March 2025
And it's a much bigger delay than even the most pessimistic rumors anticipated.

Apple too many yes man, and got complacent.

Anything they release was put to high praise or excuses by their own internal team / supported influencers. From their spokesperson for iPhone 16e you can see their delusions..

They just need to see gsmarena for ideas and critics.. instead of promising this AI no one asked for.

      Tim Crook's gonna Nuke !

It's ok. We already got seamless actions across apps on Galaxy, thanks to Gemini - Bixby integration.

why the rush they should waiit 5yrs late as usually so we get the perfect ai😂

              Typical Apple ..

I cannot imagine EVER using Chat GP or Siri or any A.I. features! Just not me. Right now I am a very happy bunny, not going to update anything at all on any iOS device. Why? Well, security-wise it compromises your stuff in my experience, and the iPhones cameras work much better & quicker without Apple Intelligence, so mine is always switched off

The more the market cap of these scum companies increases the worse products they release.

Riolucake, 08 Mar 2025I won't be surprised if all the Samsung Device get One... moreOh I have a feeling we will get OneUI 8 before Siri + Apple Intelligence is actually usable.

Apple actually has nothing, nada, zip. That's why they tried to make a deal with Google and OpenAI. So unless Apple literally buys a Siri replacement that already incorporated LLM, it will take them a while if they want to integrate LLM into Siri.

Come WWDC 2025, Apple will tout iOS19 with this new Siri. iOS19 will come with iPhone 17 lineup in September, but typical Apple, we would have to wait until .2 or .3 update.

I won't be surprised if all the Samsung Device get One UI 7 before this.

potato4k, 08 Mar 2025Can't blame them since apple did push their AI marketi... moreYep because in that event they didn't have really anything new to show besides talking about AI 60% of the time, new soc 10% of the time or the new camera "button" 20% of the time and 10% for others. Jeez...

Bodygard, 08 Mar 2025Good lesson for people that bought 16/pro models *because o... moreCan't blame them since apple did push their AI marketing to the max on the September event. Heck, it's plastered all over their stores and web sites.

Lister, 08 Mar 2025No one cares.Damn, you got so many people up yours that you are apparently everyone? Weird flex but okay.

Good lesson for people that bought 16/pro models *because of AI argument*. Could've kept their 13 pro, 14 pro, 15 pro another year and buy the next model, 17 pro...

S I R E, 08 Mar 2025I think it's safe to say that anyone who follows tech ... moreNo one cares.

I think it's safe to say that anyone who follows tech world with any degree of interest knows how data hungry and privacy violating these "AI" apps and services are and we don't want it, only reason we don't say too much is at least that forces these companies to add more RAM in phones which is a good thing ultimately when the buzz is dead (I can't wait)

Not to mention the models waste a considerable amount of internal storage on Apples already stupidly expensive and limited options while not offering anything that wasn't already being done before the term "AI" started giving weird pleasure to whoever keeps investing and shoving it down the users even when nobody really wants it.

Most tasks these so "AI" companies scream about can be does with a fraction of resources with simple "if this then that" commands and scripts for automation. Google translate was as useful without AI slapped on to it and less annoying might I add than with it. Tools like Grammarly and such have existed far longer and used to work much faster and easier than with these unwanted bloats.

Furthermore, when you realise that "AI" is just a massive step towards a dystopian society where human presence has no value to people who gratify themselves with robotic dopamine doses is a sad future and I for one don't want any part of it.

I value the person who would argue with me because he/she has real emotions and personality. Not some data blackhole that can read 36 quintillion books a day and is influenced by so many references that it just summarises whatever the company wants it to "believe" and spits it out.

HopeFilledIdiot, 07 Mar 2025Whoa this is definitely unprecedented. To push something ba... moreIt's not that it's "harder" than anticipated. It's more like they didn't have anything and got blindsided and completely missed the boat on AI because Apple put their money on EV and AR instead. So when Samsung released the S24 and Galaxy AI, Apple was scrambling and Tim Cook made up some BS for the shareholders to buy them time trying to make a deal with Google and OpenAI and/or buy up some startups.

Remember, even Siri was not made by Apple, Apple bought it. In reality, Apple actually didnt make a lot of stuff, they just bought it. iTunes, is another example, bought, originally called SoundJam.

So... again, why Craig is still on the job?
Remember, Forstall got fired due to Apple Maps.
iOS has been a buggy mess since iOS15, and now this?

Apple, coasting on Steve Jobs legacy can only go so far. That cash will run out sooner or later. The wheel is turning. Apple made a bet on EV and AR, and they completely missed the boat on AI, and it shows.

All ai assistants suck si bad…i cant even set up an alarm with alexa without repeating 2-3 times..they dont understand commands such as “set all my alarms to 1 hour prior” or “create 5 alarms from 9:30 to 10am with 6 min intervals”…i only use voice assistants for music and alarm, yet those product engineers cannot cone up with useful ideas-_-
