10 March 2025
You'll be able to really use external monitors with your Android phone soon enough.

finally google copying code from HarmonyOS

happy to see such change 👍

Anonymous, 11 Mar 2025They could have, and should have, done this over a decade ago.Especially since today's smartphone computing power has greatly advanced over the years. Never mind flagship-tier chipsets, even today's modern midrange-tier chipset is still powerful enough for average consumers to do casual web or social media browsing and casual office document work. During the old days of Motorola Atrix 4G and ASUS Padfone, neither the chipset nor the OS were up for the job.

And I doubt most Android OEMs would implement it anyway since they don't want to disrupt their tablet sales.

That is so limited and half-way cooked, compared to apple's solution.. also Miracast support that was ditched in favor of direct WiFi, which is 80% incompatible between vendors.. it's a disaster

The bigger issue right now is Chromecast to Android TV doesn't work without phone being on same Wi-Fi network. I mean how TF is Samsung able to do SmartView via Phone seamlessly & quickly without needing same Wi-Fi but Google is so antique?

They borrowed QuickShare from Samsung, here's hoping they borrow SmartView too BUT WITHOUT MODIFYING ANYTHING THAT WORKS WITH SAMSUNG. I want Samsung to continue own & develop both QuickShare & SmartView without Google's control because Samsung DO stuff better than Google.

Ditch chrome os. Make android usable for laptop like devices . I tried chrome os but the limitations were so many. Wish it had full fledged android with external monitor support.

We only need a 10x faster Wireless Projection than a ChromeCast.

it gotta be seamless, buttersmooth, high stability.

Won't trust Google till I see it with my eyes. They've been teasing a desktop mode in developer options since Android 10. 5 versions later, we're yet to see a real desktop mode like Motorola's ready for or Samsung Dex.
