I never said you were a fanboy, nobody did.
People will always have opinions and sometimes they exaggerate just like you did now with 9300 vs 8 gen 3. 9300 did not beat either by a big margin and neither could 9300+ which was a mid cycle refresh, Qualcomm has not released mid cycle refreshes since 8+ Gen 1.
What's more is that 8 Gen 3 performed 40-45% better in 3DMark Wildlife even though 9300 uses a 44% higher clock speed. Not limited to benchmarks either, 8 Gen 3 and Qualcomm in general has maintained a higher ground in GPU performance against all its competitors while often using much lower clock speeds. MediaTek's marginal win was likely because they added more L3 cache to the cores at 18MB vs 12MB in 8 Gen 3, that is 33% difference for 2-3% gains in CPU tasks.

I just hate when people say "Qualcomm good, MediaTek bad".
I mean, last year's Dimensity 9300 was the most powerful SoC, beating the A17 pro and 8 Gen 3 by a big margin. Yet people still spoke rubbish!

MediaTek is just as good.
Y'all a... moreIn RAW performance, yes. Perhaps even stronger in specific CPU and GPU benchmarks and tests of user apps but Qualcomm factually has better driver support, better reputation and most importantly, a better independent community development support for níche but extremely powerful apps and features like Emulation support, kernel builders, custom ROMs (still a dying group but not a smidge less useful), Over clocking support and games tend to behave objectively better with Qualcomm than MediaTek.
I get that you like MTK as they represent competition to the monopolistic giant Qualcomm is becoming but MediaTek is still catching up and there's nothing that can change general perception of the masses but time and even more efforts by MediaTek, they need to improve aforementioned aspects while competing at cost and performance to change minds.
It is a general rule that people are creatures of habit (myself included of course), we get comfortable with something and are reluctant to change unless the change is better is overwhelming proportions.
Take Intel VS AMD for example. AMD consistently beats Intel in both price and performance in every class/tier even though Intel has struggled to provide a competent product in many years.

The non-Pro T's are pretty great when the price drops a few months after release - 14T for ~400€ is a really solid buy.
The Pro's however are just below year old, discounted flagships in price, and lacking way too many things in comparison - basic telephoto and UW cameras, no wireless charging or LTPO display.
Xiaomi needs to think of better way to segment these devices, the T Pro is stuck in a weird place right now.

Luke, 6 hours agoNothing can save them, even mediatek. They should finally m... moreThe system-wide ads are very annoying. Xiaomi promised 2024, that HyperOS 2 would make it way easy via switch - to lay this all to rest, whileas it's a "frickle down to frickles town" number to de-activate the HyperOS v1/2 ads system inside Android, even when you do disable everything - it's possible, at some point, one does see the ads again (!) Which is sick.
I am for sure not paying >500 EUR for a new Xiaomi (again) if i don't have the chance to disable the whole ad thing inside the HyperOS 2, and further versions - once and for all.
As for reference, see here:

Veoma, 6 hours agoIt says they're developing it not getting it ready to ... moreThe past T-series came into September...usually. The 15T and 15T Pro therefore are being *expected* to release into 6 months, some day into September 2025, therefore. The 12T Pro came into early October 2022, whileas the 13T Pro, and 14T Pro have been released 2023, 2024 into September.
I'd like to see a better, more reach & quality zoom lens into the 15T Pro.

idk why xiaomi is sticking with MTK with these T pro series. 12T pro is the best smartphone because it uses snapdragon 8+ gen 1. Peak smartphone specs IMO. It drops the peakness after that.
FYI, I'm still using 12T pro for a long time and I love it. Even after almost 2 years of use.
