Casio, 11 Mar 2025This should have happened 10 years ago.. Well it kinda did. I remember I was getting emails for corporate trips, hotel bookings, airline tickets and all were automatically created in Google calendar.. no need for AI, just stupid scripts ;) but as someone said below, what would you do after spending billions and not having even a slightest idea and possibility to do more? ;)

gingermark, 11 Mar 2025This functionality existed before AI assistants. Google see... moreWhat would you do if you invested millions, if not billions, in something that turns out to be as good as useless and sparks approx. 0,2 % of the consumers' interest that you thought it would? 🤷♂

ah, FINALLY!
In case you're wondering how it used to be before - you could add a "google task" straight from your email (I'm using Gmail for Android), but that task wouldn't contain the time and date of that event. You had to manually add the time and date to that task.
edit: wait....
"[...] you'll only get this if you have a Google Workspace Business or Enterprise account, a Gemini Education or Gemini Education Premium add-on, or are a subscriber to Google One AI Premium."
seriously? smh

This functionality existed before AI assistants. Google seems to be intentionally dumbing down it's non-AI stuff to push people towards Gemini so, one would assume, they can charge for it later.
