Unfortunately, the Chinese phones aren't always good options for us in Australia, as VoLTE and emergency calls don't work with all OEMs. Oppo is the only Chinese brand sold locally, so its phones are officially supported. Nothing phones are too, though Nothing is technically based in the UK.

The price will drop massively after a couple of months. If you can live with the massive bezels, it will be the midranger with the best camera, and its battery life will be far superior to any Xiaomi.
Motorola makes good midrangers (eg. Edge 50 Neo), which have much faster charging, slim bezels and stock Android, but the cameras don't compete and the delay with updates is significant. Samsung doesn't appeal to me. Who else is there? Only OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Vivo and Nothing. They might be fine if you want a tablet in your pocket.

[deleted post]All you said is irrelevant. First of all I have xiaomi, samsung, vivo. I have has iphone but never again cos of ios and those bugs after updates. When you buy flagship you wont have problems with software. From all this brends xiaomi has the least buggy software, the worst one is with vivo. So cameras, battery life in Xiaomi from 5000mah I get from 8-10h screen on time, display, software etc is on Xiaomi then is samsung and least one is vivo, not so optimised with vivo. Let say in samsung is good but it has some bugs, slow charging, you can't lock your apps, you need to download app for it. Pixel software is good but not wort to give 550€ for that phone, if its 350€ or 400€ for 256gb then yes, but when you see what you get from other brands for that money. You csn say what you want but this is from my experience. 7 years of software updates? Like whos gonna hold this midrange phone for 7 years? This processor is not gonna hold for 7 years. Its more like you'll hold with this phone 3 to 4 years, and probably that processor will hold thst time too...

Google even... moreoh youre trying to tell me that xiaomi doesnt have buggy software? 6500mAh phones and worse battery life than a motorola phone with a 4300mAh phone. or the Poco F6 almost having identical specs to the realme GT 6, yet the GT6 has close to 2x the battery life..

So basically, it will be a better deal than the 9 pro, since it will have the same procesor but a 400mAh bigger battery and cost significantly less.

Anonymous, 13 Mar 2025you get the whole package. USB-C 3.2, 7years of support, no... more"no buggy software". You must be new. Google even bricked smartphones with its updates. Their software is no better than Chinese. A couple of Chinese programmers created Deepseek which is miles ahead of anything Google has to offer. Do you really think Google knows hardware better than Chinese giants?
